Good news. Daily posting is not the only way to grow ...
This is not a bash on social media marketing for horse businesses. Itâs a great tool. Hello, weâre here connecting because of it.
This is a wake-up call to help you see that succumbing to pressure to post on social media every day or multiple times a day without having a real strategy is costing you. And youâre likely not getting a return on that investment.
Yet, when you start with clarity on who youâre serving and the journey youâre taking your customers on, thatâs when you utilize social media in a way thatâs actually connected to your business and personal goals.
(And often discover additional ways to grow that feel like you.)
If youâre not sure how your social media strategy (or lack of) connects to actually building and growing your equine business, letâs chat.
Drop COACH for info on 1:1 business and marketing coaching for passion-driven equine entrepreneurs.
And if business coaching is new to you, know this. Itâs so much more than just a video chat. Iâve got frameworks, tools, and resources at the ready so you can take consistent action.

Q&A With Denise Alvarez Of Stormlily Marketing
How did your journey in the equine industry start, and what inspired you to build Stormlily Marketing?
DENISE: In many ways, I don't remember a time when I wasn't part of the equine industry. I grew up with horses in our backyard, so horses have simply always been part of my life.
Professionally, Stormlily Marketing began in 2018, but it looked very different than it does today. At the time, I was preparing for the arrival of our second child and wanted to build a business that would provide additional income for our family.
Back then, it wasn't even called Stormlily Marketing. It was Stormlily Solutions as I wasn't quite ready to fully own the fact that marketing was my specialty So I gave the business a broad name and decided I'd help any small business that needed it.
It didn't take long to learn one of the biggest lessons I now teach my own clients: if you're trying to serve everyone, you'll struggle to connect with anyone.
As I learned from other entrepreneurs, reflected on what energized me most, and prayed for God's direction, the answer became clear. The work I loved, the experience I already had, and the people I most wanted to serve all pointed in the same direction.
That's where my passion for horses and my passion for marketing came together.
Believe it or not, my original dream wasn't actually to build a marketing business. It was to start a nonprofit where at-risk youth could experience the healing power of horses. But in that season of life, I knew the business needed to come first.
So, in 2020, I embraced serving the equine industry, rebranded as Stormlily Marketing, and launched the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. That decision became the foundation not only for the business I lead today, but also for the bigger vision of Stormlily Ranch.
Looking back, I can see how each step prepared me for the next. What started as a way to support my family has grown into an opportunity to help equine entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses while also creating a path toward the non-profit mission God placed on my heart years ago.

âď¸Marketing doesnât end at purchase ...
Your client intake process is the first real experience a client has of what itâs actually like to work with you.
Please donât minimize it. Itâs a reflection of your brand and a real opportunity to cement in their minds that they made the right choice to hire you or buy from you.
Hereâs a practical way to uplevel the experience. Ask yourself:
How do you want people to feel during that initial client intake with your equine business?
Thanks to Jamie at Equinerevshare.com for having me back to his podcast to talk all things marketing for horse professionals. Be sure to check out the Equine Business Edge podcast. He has some great conversations happening there!
P.S. The application here isn't just to get your email list going. It's to make decisions for marketing your equine business based on data versus how you feel about it. It's not an either/or scenario as much as it's a both/and set-up. Social media is a great tool. AND, you do not own your audience is your rely 100% on social for your marketing.
