Poetry Slam in Springfield, MO. Every FIRST Sunday of the month! In a rotation of three rounds, poets have three minutes to present one original poem per round.
The "Show Me Poetry" Poetry Slam is an opportunity for poets to compete and share their original poetry, and for the audience to experience the community at work. This slam encourages the audience to take part in the show as well, either as one of the five volunteer judges, or by simply cheering on the poets and booing the scores they feel were too low. This is a beautiful night that will change how you see the world. Come out and join us!

Wait, wait, wait. Who won the September Slam????
Ohhhhhhhh omg, we forgot to even tell you!
Congratulations to Amanda, first place winner, who took home the $50 first prize! Donald Walking Bear took 2nd place ($20), and Mark My Words took home the coveted 3rd place prize of our undying respect & affection.
Thanks so much to all who came out for an incredible evening of original poetry. We hope to see you again on October 4th!

Poets' Corner Proudly Presents: "It Doesn't Have to be Good" a Poetry Workshop hosted by Mar the Ghost.
Our very own Mar the Ghost is hosting a Poetry Workshop THIS MONTH!!! Based on the idea that you only get better by starting somewhere, Mar will guide those in the workshop through not only that first hurdle of beginning, but all the hurdles after, leaving you with something to be proud of.
This Workshop is for all ages and all skill levels. This Workshop is not for reworking old poems, or bringing something to work on, but instead focused on making something entirely new.

Congratulations to our winners tonight! Desiree came in first and took home $50! The Man in the Green Hat placed second, winning $20, and Mar the Ghost came in third place. And a big thank you to our judges and for everyone who came out to watch and support the poetry community! Come back on September 6th for our next slam!
