Well we went from extreme heat to bi-polar storms out of nowhere with “baby” tornados tearing down trees and poles over the last few weeks. Hardly anyone is laying right now after all of that craziness and I know I owe some eggs to a few people so hoping they will pick back up soon to get that sorted. Somewhere in the mix there was a new addition to the silkie shenanigans. Someone from the new family didn’t want to stay with her people on the ride home and went exploring everywhere else during the ride. Grays will start to be offered hopefully early next spring. Eggs might be offered sooner…just depends on how everyone cooperates.

Lavender/Self blue silkies are at 100% fertility with the first batch tested last week. Going to start offering them soon along with the other colors we have. Whites are still working out their differences and the splash boy is more worried about me stealing eggs than fertilizing but hopefully he will get his act together soon as well.

“Donald” is one of the spare buff boys who isn’t working at the moment and free ranging instead. He might be obsessed with the skid loader and kept chasing it up and down the hill.

We have a new surprise (or 3 ish) this weekend so have to move birds the next few days. Also probably going to just go ahead and do mite tx at the same time. Have a new silkie pen I’ve been working on for a new color-gray! There’s so few breeders working on it so I’m working to learn the genetics as well. It’s making me want silver Ameraucana and welsummer too 👀

This is Jolene, our lone frizzle buff gal. My OCD wants to find her a new home bc she is the odd gal out but then I look at her and I’m like maybe I need a whole pen. 🤦‍♀️
