Springfield food pantry demand remains high despite recent slowdown 07/31/2026

Thank you to KY3 for helping bring awareness to the ongoing need in our community.

While demand at our food pantry has slowed slightly, the need remains significantly higher than it was just a few years ago. Every day, people across the Ozarks are making impossible choices between groceries, rent, utilities, and other basic necessities.

We're grateful for partners like KY3 who help tell these stories and remind our community that the need for hope, compassion, and support continues.

Springfield food pantry demand remains high despite recent slowdown Demand at Springfield’s largest food pantry has leveled off, but it remains about 60% higher than it was three years ago, according to Crosslines Community Outreach.

Our Safe to Sleep volunteers are the heart behind so many moments of hope.

Whether they're preparing meals, welcoming guests, organizing donations, or simply offering a kind smile, they help create a place where women experiencing homelessness are treated with dignity, compassion, and care.

To every current volunteer: THANK YOU! Your faithfulness is changing lives, one safe night at a time.

As our shelter continues to serve more women, we're seeking additional volunteers to join this incredible team. If you've been searching for a meaningful way to make a difference in our community, we would love to welcome you to our team.

Together, we can ensure every woman who walks through our doors is met with warmth, safety, and hope.

When people come together with a shared purpose, incredible things happen. πŸ’™

At their annual convention, Jordan Essentials Healthy Skincare invited partners from across the country to participate in a hygiene product drive, and the results are already making an impact here in Southwest Missouri.

Thanks to their generosity, we received 258 pounds of hygiene products, including soap, deodorant, and other personal care essentials. These items will support our neighbors through the Food Pantry, Safe to Sleep, and Ambassadors for Children.

Hygiene products help restore dignity, promote health, and meet needs that are often overlooked but deeply important. We're grateful to every partner who contributed to this incredible effort!

Thank you for helping us care for our community and move people from scarcity toward security.

πŸ’™ Thank you to Aetna Better Health for investing in healthier communities!

We are honored to receive a $25,000 grant from Aetna to help us continue connecting our neighbors with the resources they need to move from scarcity toward security.

This generous investment strengthens our ability to meet immediate needs while helping individuals and families build healthier, more stable futures. We are grateful for partners like Aetna who recognize that access to food, support services, and compassionate care all play a role in improving community health.

Thank you, for believing in our mission and in the people we serve. We are truly better together!

A lot can happen in a year! πŸ’™

Today, we're celebrating one year since construction began on the new Safe to Sleep Emergency Women's Shelter. What started as blueprints, steel, and concrete has become a place of hope, dignity, and restoration for women experiencing homelessness in our community.

Every beam raised and every wall built represented something much bigger than a building. It represented a community that believed every woman deserves a safe place to sleep and a pathway toward stability.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, contractor, community partner, and advocate who helped make this possible. Because of your generosity, lives are being changed every single day.
