Jacob's Hope

This week we want to pray for the Jewish people living in the land of Israel. Israel has the largest population of Jewish people in the world at around 7.2 million people. Only around 20,000 of those 7.2 million Jewish people are reported to be Messianic/Believers in Jesus.

We pray that the Messianic communities in Israel will be bold as they share their faith with their brothers and sisters, and that they would be protected from those who would wish harm against them. We also pray for revival to spread through Israel. That there would be dreams and visions of the Messiah throughout the land, until Israel declares "Baruch haba b'shem Adonai" ("Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord")!

This Monday, 9/21, our monthly prayer for Israel coincides with Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year. On this day, the Jewish people in Israel and around the world fast and pray and repent in hopes of having their names written in the book of life.

If you can, please join us at the World Prayer Center from 12:00-1:00 as we pray for the Jewish people.

This week we want to pray for the estimated 7.5 million Jewish people living the United States. The US is second only to Israel when it comes to Jewish population.

Even in the land of the free, the Jewish people face persecution and antisemitism for their beliefs and heritage.

Right now we are also in the Days of Awe, the 10 days of repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. During this time, Jewish people all over the world are repenting and trying to do good deeds in hopes of having their name written in the book of life. As believers in the Yeshua, the Messiah, we know that the only way to have your name written in the book of life is to accept Yeshua (Jesus) as your Lord and Savior.

Pray with us for the eyes of the Jewish people to be opened to the truth of the Messiah. That they will find their hope in Him instead of trying to achieve it through works. Also pray for protection for the Jewish people, especially those living in New York, and pray against the spirit of antisemitism that seeks to see the destruction of God's chosen people.

Israel is the only place in the world outside of United States that has erected a memorial to the victims of 9/11 terrorist act. We will never forget. May their memories be a blessing.

What a special weekend with partners in El Paso,TX!
Even though it is August and not Pesach season, we were asked to do a Seder for the WTX Section, led by Presbyter Tommie Armenta. We met many new friends at the luncheon, then were privileged to repeat the Seder at Templo la Trinidad Church for their Missions Convention! What beautiful and receptive people and amazing pastors Tommie and Lulu! We were blessed to share and see the openness to Adonai’s People and their position in G-d’s redemptive plan for all mankind.
