Hope would like to wish a very happy birthday to one of our art teachers, Miss Julie!

Miss Julie teaches our elementary and middle school art classes and has spent the past several years cultivating her love of art while assisting in Hope's art program and developing her teaching skills. As she begins her senior year at Hope, Miss Julie is looking forward to another year in the art room, and has some wonderful plans for her students in the year ahead.

Happy Birthday, Miss Julie! We hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday to this year's MVP, Mrs. Melissa Payseur!

Birthdays are an interesting concept; they aren't exactly the anniversary celebration of someone's birth. If that were the case, they'd be more for parents than children, because the parents remember it, and of course the birthday child doesn't.

Birthdays are really the day we celebrate that God brought that person into the world, and how grateful we are that person is in our lives.

I can't think of a better way to honor such an amazing teacher, and valuable member of our team. Happy Birthday Mrs. Payseur, we are so glad to celebrate another trip around the sun with you in our children's lives!

📖The Book Lists Are Here!

At Hope, one of the first questions I hear from students each summer is:
"What books are we doing this year?"

It actually starts much earlier than that.

Every spring, our students help us build the reading list for the following year. We hand them a list of great books, and for a couple of weeks the conversations take over. Students champion their favorites, make passionate arguments for why a particular book has to make the list, and eagerly wait to see which selections make the final cut.

It's one of the most enjoyable traditions of the school year.
By the time summer arrives, they're READY to know...
What made the cut?!

Over the years, Hope's literature program has become something truly special. We read the great classics, but we also believe they should be accessible. Great literature isn't reserved for a handful of advanced students. We believe students of all ages, abilities, and learning styles should have the opportunity to discover, enjoy, and learn from the books that have shaped generations.

By middle and high school, our literature classes become less like traditional English classes and more like an incredible book club. Students don't read simply because there's an assignment due—they read because they genuinely don't want to miss the discussion. They challenge one another's ideas, laugh over memorable scenes, wrestle with difficult questions, and carry those conversations into lunch and between classes.

The Great Books become part of the culture of their lives.

From first readers discovering the joy of Stone Soup and Amelia Bedelia to Great Books discussions of The Call of the Wild and Fahrenheit 451, our goal has always been the same:
To help students learn how to think about life through the wisdom of great books and meaningful conversations.

The 2026–27 book lists are officially here.
If you're looking for a school where great books become great conversations, we'd love to welcome you to Hope.

We can't wait to get the conversation started!

I'm not sure if you're healing or hurting today, momma, but I believe the Lord wants to remind you that you are held, and He is good.
