Monday Morning Cuteness: notice her smile being a little less toothy? Piper will be 7 in August and was so ecstatic to finally lose her first tooth! She’s a late bloomer when it comes to loose teeth, but that didn’t stop the tooth fairy from coming. Boy, it’s fun watching this stage of life with a little one! The excitement over a tooth, the hiding it under her pillow, and the morning discovery (and squealing) that there was $2 for her!

Happy Father’s Day to the ultimate “girl dad”! Whether it’s teaching our youngest to build things, or giving a pep talk to our oldest before a swim meet, Ryan is such an amazing dad. He’s the guy who is always front and center, the “fun dad” doesn’t mind making a food of himself at the expense of entertaining our girls. We sure hit the jackpot with Mr. Skry!

Find someone who makes you laugh, the kind of chuckle where tears roll down your face.

Find someone who looks at you with admiration, who is proud of every accomplishment in life, no matter how big or small.

Find someone who thinks you are the most beautiful person, whether you are all done up or disheveled and exhausted.

Find someone who stands by you, no matter how messy life gets. Find that person who will hold your hand through job layoffs, financial struggles, through emotional stress and heartbreaking loss.

Find someone who is that shoulder to lean on, who holds you through the difficult days in life. That person you can sob to, who somehow makes everything feel better.

When you find that person, hold onto them and don’t let go. That’s what I did when we were young and in love...and I thank God I found my “person”.

17 years of wedded bliss. On this day in 2009, life felt absolutely perfect. It’s not always easy, marriage takes work. But life with this guy by my side makes me feel like the luckiest gal.

(Life sure is good Mr. Skry! Happy Anniversary❤️)

To the dads who hold their hand through life and never let go.

To the dads who spend their free time coaching and cheering on their child from the sidelines.

To the dads who aren’t afraid to look silly, playing dress up and dancing with their daughters.

To the dads who don’t just watch from the edge of the pool, they jump in with a cannon ball, ready to splash their child.

To the dads who happily take the children out of the house, so you can get a few hours of peace and quiet to yourself.

To the dads who take over the late-night feedings because they know you need the rest.

To the dads who aren’t afraid to change diapers, and who drop everything to cradle their crying baby.

To the dads who are always just a phone call away, no matter how old their child may be.

To the men who may not be their dad, but are a father figure and part of the family.

To the dads who get rid of the monsters under the bed.

To the dads who get their daughters ready for dance, not just tights and leotard, but mastering the ballet bun.

To the dads who teach their sons how to be a stand up, respectable man.

To dads who put their families first, who can’t wait to get home to hug their children.

Thank you for all that you do. Not just this weekend, but every single day of the year.

Monday Morning Cuteness: And she’s off! We said goodbye to our oldest today as she heads to Wisconsin for a month of camp. This is Peyton’s sixth year at camp and every year the excitement grows. She has made so many best friends, and let me tell you, the 20 person text chain has been quite entertaining as they are packing for a summer of fun! Once again, Peyton will spend her Birthday at camp, and this is a big year #13! More on that later, but now her sister and I are off to explore Chicago (Hello American Girl) as Piper gets to bask in being an only child for the next four weeks!

Oh the comments I get…. Such a good reminder!

What am I doing today, you might ask? Well, I’m spending hours trying to strategically fit several weeks of clothing, toiletries, and bedding into two duffle bags. Yep, my oldest is about to leave for a month at camp in Wisconsin and she has decided that in addition to the dozen of swimsuits, she needs a giant tote filled with perfume and make up. In between the eye rolls and the irritation, I figured out how to make everything fit into those two bags. So, I call that a win!
