💧 Prioritize Hydration: Monitor your cat's water intake closely. Cats are naturally prone to mild dehydration, and extreme heat increases this risk.

🧊 Provide Fresh Water: Ensure constant access to fresh water by placing multiple bowls around the home. Try using ice cubes or frozen treats as fun incentives to encourage drinking!

🧱 Offer Cool Resting Surfaces: Help your cat stay comfortable by providing chilled pet mats, damp towels, or access to tile floors in their favorite lounging spots.

Did you know that cats have a low thirst drive and may not drink enough water?

During Pet Hydration Awareness Month (and every other month of the year!) we're here to remind you to keep your kitty hydrated by providing fresh water daily. 💧🐱

💧 Keep Water Fresh: Refill your pet's water bowl with fresh, cool water several times a day. Add a few ice cubes on hot days, and place extra water bowls both indoors and outdoors.

🍲 Boost Their Hydration: Mix a little water or wet food into their meals to help increase their daily water intake.

👀 Know the Warning Signs: Watch for excessive panting, lethargy, or dry, sticky gums. You can also perform the skin tent test—gently pinch the skin between their shoulders. If it doesn't quickly return to its normal position, your pet may be dehydrated.

☀️ Beat the Heat: Bring fresh water on outings, and never leave your pet in a parked car, even for a few minutes. 🚗❌
