The tornado has become the tipping point in the revitalization of Maple High Six Corners. The storm connected our community; it brought together a uniquely diverse group of people. This has inspired us to apply our collective resources to create a Community Visionary plan whereby we redesign our neighborhood as we rebuild it. This page is managed by the Neighborhood Marketing Committee. We respectfully request ALL residents and business owners to actively promote and participate in this effort. Building on our neighborhood’s history, heritage, and diversity, we envision a community of mixed-use buildings – housing, small business, retail, recreation, education, entertainment – and a network of streetscapes and open spaces. We believe every individual, organization and business has an obligation to act to benefit our neighborhood at large. We are promoting home-ownership, strict code enforcement, community policing, and social responsibility. We are waging a war on litter, graffiti and property neglect. Use this page to share ideas and information. If you are interested you can attend monthly Neighborhood Council meetings (2nd Tuesday, 6pm) and Community Visionary meetings (every other Thur at 6pm). It’s a brand new, beautiful day in the Maple High Six Corners neighborhood. Imagine the possibilities!

Do you enjoy bird watching?
Here at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, our grounds are home to many species of birds. From ground-dwelling House Finches to drumming Red-bellied Woodpeckers, feathered wildlife is ever present to the everyday visitor.
One notable species that has built a home within the Armory’s grounds is the Red-tailed Hawk. These birds can often be seen soaring above Springfield’s city blocks, surveying the rural trails in search of their next meal. Listen closely, as you may just hear their recognizable “kee-eeeee-arr” call, which is often attributed to the Bald Eagle in movies.
See if you can spot one of these resident raptors on your next trip to the Springfield Armory!

It's that time of year again!
Tomorrow, Friday September 18th at 11:00AM, Springfield Armory NHS will once again be hosting the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Ceremony. This year, 153 individuals representing 41 countries will be celebrating on our grounds as they formally become United States citizens.
We always enjoy the honor of hosting this special event, and hope to see plenty of friends and family in attendance. Congratulations, new citizens!
