This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people who keep things moving — the early risers, the problem-solvers, the builders, the caregivers, the hands-on workers, and everyone who takes pride in a job well done.

Every profession has a role in building stronger communities, and every honest day’s work deserves recognition. Today, we say thank you to the workers who show up, put in the effort, and make a difference every day.

One of our favorite things to do is share meals with all our friends who bring Sunday dinners to the Multicultural House! Please take a moment to sign up for one Sunday dinner, or one a semester, or one a month. Every meal served helps feed our students' bodies and souls, and we hear it does the same for our dinner hosts.

Today is the big day! It's the day we kick off our Summer of Sustainability!

This year marks 65 years of being the progressive campus ministry at Missouri State University, while also serving students from several other local campuses. In celebration of those 65 years, we’re launching a bold fundraising campaign to help ensure that Ekklesia remains strong and sustainable for generations of college students still to come. Together, we can support students looking for a place where they will be welcomed just as they are, where they can ask big questions about faith and life, and where there is no pressure to conform or pretend.

For 65 years, Ekklesia has offered students belonging, brave conversation, nourishing meals, spiritual exploration, leadership opportunities, and a community that reminds them they do not have to walk alone. Now we are asking those who believe in this ministry to help carry it forward.

Throughout the summer, we’ll be sharing stories from across Ekklesia’s history and inviting you to invest in the next chapter. Whether you give $6.50, $65, $650, or another amount that is meaningful to you, every gift helps create a more sustainable future for this vital ministry.

Sixty-five years is a remarkable legacy. Together, we can make sure it is only the beginning.
