People often think the Birkin was created as a luxury handbag.
Its ancestor, the Hermès Haut à Courroies (HAC), was actually designed in the 19th century to carry riding boots and equestrian gear.
Glad to see Erling Haaland is using his HAC in a correct way â
At thirty, I stood firm. At forty, I was free from doubt.
ä¸ĺčçŤďźĺĺčä¸ćăThis line comes from The Analects (ă莺čŻă), a collection of the teachings of Confucius written over 2,000 years ago.
It describes two milestones of personal growth:
âAt thirty, I stood firm.â â establishing your values, purpose, and place in the world.
âAt forty, I was free from doubt.â â no longer seeking validation from others, but living with clarity and confidence in who you are.
A gold Rolex once helped me be seen.
An agarwood bracelet helps me to mediate so I can see myself.
May we all grow wiser with time.
I used to think brooches had no place in summer. Turns out, keeping one in your jewelry box isnât such a bad idea after all.
Finally made it to Boston after an 8-hour on and off train ride from NYC. đ

Hermes 2011, clear crocodile leather.
One of the rarest material experiments ever shown on a luxury runway.
Jean Paul Gaultier spent his final Hermès collection pushing leather craftsmanship to a place nobody thought was possible: Making one of the worldâs most luxurious leathers almost disappear.
A few years later, mostly 2017-2019, transparent bags were everywhere. PVC became one of fashionâs biggest trends, with brands across the industry embracing the see-through aesthetic. But few people give Jean Paul Gaultier credit for pushing the transparent luxury aesthetic years before clear PVC bags became a global trend.
In Asian collectorsâ circles, there are legendary thrift-store stories. People paid $2 for a piece dusty wooden bracelet which worth almost 1M đ
Agarwood isnât an ordinary wood.
Itâs formed when certain Aquilaria trees are wounded or infected. Over many yearsâsometimes decadesâthe tree produces a dark, fragrant resin as a natural defense.
That resin is what makes agarwood so valuable.
The older the resin, the richer the fragrance. The rarer the tree, the more precious the piece.
High-quality agarwood is prized for how it smells.
Collectors describe its fragrance as layered, evolving, and impossible to imitate. Some pieces carry herbal notes, others are sweet, floral, cooling or like Chinese medicine.
It was treasured by emperors, scholars, monks, and royalty across Asia. It has been used in ceremonies, meditation, traditional medicine, and perfume for over a thousand years. Itâs particularly popular among Buddhists and often associated with their practice.
