One week ago tonight, Springfield Little Theatre’s 92nd SEASON officially began!

On this day in 1909, the doors of the Landers Theatre opened for the very first time. 117 years later, the lights are still glowing. The seats are still filling. The curtain is still rising.

For more than a century, The Landers has stood at the heart of downtown Springfield, welcoming generations of audiences, artists, volunteers, families, and friends. Its stage has held thousands of stories, but perhaps the greatest story is the one still being written every time our community gathers here.

Today, we celebrate everyone who has helped preserve it, fill it with life, and ensure that another generation has the opportunity to call it their theatre.
