Welcome to Sydenstricker UMC. We are a friendly, loving neighborhood church, where all are welcome! Please visit us.
We’re proud of our Methodist heritage of acceptance of a diversity of opinions, cultural traditions, ethnic backgrounds and beliefs within our church family. As United Methodist, we don’t apply a doctrinal purity test to our members; instead, we welcome everyone into our church family. We respect and learn from our differences and grow and work together in our communal journey of transformation and service. Whether you’re looking for answers to questions about God or you’re a committed Christian seeking to grow deeper in your faith. You will find a caring, welcoming home at Sydenstricker.

The VFW was established on September 29, 1899, by a group of veterans from the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection. It has since grown to be the nation’s largest group of combat veterans. They continue “to honor the dead by helping the living.” The VFW promote patriotism, goodwill and youth scholarships. They also provide military assistance and community service programs, promote youth activities and volunteer many hours in their local communities.

Tomorrow is Stewardship Sunday, and in his morning message, Deacon Brad will share with us the scriptural basis for tithing in the Christian church. The evening service will look a little different this week, as it will include a presentation from Deacon Brad on the many tax-saving ways you can structure your planned giving. Jesus said, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" but the church says, "Not a Nickel More!" We will worship in person at 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. services
will also be live streamed.
In addition to worship, the following Sunday school classes and small groups meet on Sunday, at 9:45 a.m. Contact the church office (703-451-8223) for access information for the virtual groups.
