The Springfield College women's lacrosse program has earned the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad Award for the 11th consecutive season.

The Springfield College men's volleyball team was honored with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. This marks the fifth consecutive season that the Pride has been recognized for its academic achievements.

The award recognizes those programs which maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average on a 4.00 scale. In total 29 Division III men's volleyball programs received the honor this year. During the spring semester of the 2025-26 academic year, the Pride put together a 3.54 team grade point average. Springfield was also placed on the Team Academic Honor Roll for being in the top-20 percent of all schools within its division.

Springfield College and Director of Athletics, Dr. Craig Poisson, is proud to announce the addition of women's wrestling as the college's newest NCAA varsity sport, expanding opportunities for student-athletes and reinforcing the institution's longstanding commitment to excellence in athletics and education.

Women's wrestling has experienced remarkable growth across the country in recent years, becoming one of the fastest-growing collegiate sports. Springfield College is proud to join this movement expanding its range of athletics offerings to 27 sports with women's wrestling becoming the first varsity program added to the college since 1980. The women's wrestling team will begin competition at the start of the 2027-28 academic year and a national search for a head coach will begin immediately.

"The addition of women's wrestling aligns strongly with Springfield College's strategic initiatives. Given the significant growth of girls' high school wrestling programs, adding women's wrestling responds to the increasing interest and participation of today's female student-athletes," said Poisson. Springfield College Director of Athletics, Dr. Craig Poisson, is pleased to announce that Jacob Goodreau has been named as the full-time assistant coach for the Springfield College baseball program.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity Coach Chad Shade and the Springfield Athletics Department has given me to be able to stay on staff as a full time assistant coach," said Goodreau. Springfield College women's volleyball head coach Moira Long has announced the Pride's 2026 schedule which is slated to begin on September 4 in Blake Arena with the Joel B. Dearing '79 Classic.

The Pride will play a 27-match slate featuring a number of challenging non-conference contests, 11 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tilts, and a trio of early-season tournaments as Springfield prepares for another run at the conference championship. Five of Springfield's opponents appeared in the 2025 NCAA Tournament including MIT, Babson, Tufts, Stevens and Williams with MIT and Tufts ending the year ranked 11th and 12th, nationally.

The Springfield College field hockey team and head coach Mia Olsen has officially announced the program's 2026 schedule which is slated to get underway on September 2 at the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Pride will play an 18-game schedule that includes nine New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contests and nine non-conference games against teams from across the New England region. Three of Springfield's opponents reached the NCAA Tournament last fall including Babson, WPI and Amherst College with them ending the 2025 season ranked third, 22nd and 25th, respectively.

Springfield College announced that Max Berkowitz has stepped down as Director of Strategic Athletic Communications after three years of leadership in one of the most successful and visible periods in the department's recent history.

"Max contributed much to the overall student-athlete experience at Springfield College during his three plus years on Alden Street. From our strong social media presence, to human interest stories showcasing some of our nearly 700 student-athletes, to the nuts and bolts of statistics and contest streaming, and the hosting of a National Championship, Max demonstrated a commitment to excellence. The Pride will play a 17-game schedule that includes 11 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contests and six non-conference games against teams from across the New England region. Springfield College men's volleyball senior Dylan Mulvaney (Reston, Va.) and men's gymnastics junior Peyton Cramer (Grapevine, Texas) have earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Teams this year for their hard work in the classroom and in their sports during the 2025-26 academic year.

Mulvaney earned his second straight Academic All-America selection joining Jarrett Anderson as the only men's volleyball student-athletes in Springfield history to be recognized more than once, while Cramer is the fourth student-athlete in men's gymnastics history to earn Academic All-America status joining Jon Zirna (2015 & 2016), Keith LaChance (1993) and Jannik Haas (2019). This year, Cramer earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-America First Team, while Mulvaney was placed on the Second Team.
