My music has long been classified as Enthusiastic Acoustic or Speed folk. Always authentically Mykl.

I began playing the guitar at the age of 15 and was immediately addicted. I would stay up all night long and figure out Beatles songs, much to the chagrin of my mother as these were the years I was expected to be studying English, Math, Science and so on. That’s not to say I didn’t learn anything else but music in those days, it just means I found alternative ways of learning. Originally from the Cleveland Ohio area, I moved to Boulder Colorado when I was a younger adult living there for many epic years. During that time, I spent a lot of time busking on the outdoor downtown mall, the Pearl Street Mall. I learned a lot there like how to sing louder than the drunks and the buses. I have since moved to Springfield Missouri where the adventures have continued and that is where I am currently based. I’ve been Influenced by genres stretching from the classic rock standards to classical, Indian tabla drumming to electronic techno and ambient trippy to intricately arranged masterpieces of many styles. I remember getting to be able to see Zakir Hussein, an impressively talented tabla drummer from India in Boulder Colorado back in the late 90’s and thinking as I was watching that this was going to forever change the way I play guitar. Additionally, I used to be acquainted with a street performer in Boulder named Jamie Janover who played the hammer dulcimer on the Pearl Street Mall back in the days that I too was a street performer on that same mall. Watching him play his instrument has also inspired me in how I approach playing mine. I recorded my debut CD called “Welcome To My World” during March and April of 2000 and upon picking up the finished product in May, embarked on a 3 and a half month tour starting from Colorado to points in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and New England states. I played shows in Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. e show I played at in Cambridge Massachusetts was at the Kendall Café and it was the first time I appeared on the internet. The show was live streamed, or at least what passed for live streaming in those days. I t was in Vermont that I learned that you cannot have more than 1 drink on the table at one time and in Maine, performers cannot drink onstage. There was a table in front of the stage reserved for the musicians to depart from the stage for a sip (or 4) then return to the stage. While the recording studio is not without its charm, I so much prefer playing live. I love the interactions and gather inspiration from the exchange of energy with the audience. My first CD called "Welcome To My World" released in May of 2000 and my second CD released in May of 2017 are both available to you on Spotify, Apple Music, iHeart Radio, Google, YouTube and most other streaming Services.

If you have heard her before you know it’s going to be a very enjoyable evening! If you haven’t had the pleasure, this is the perfect time to come on out and get acquainted!!
