Today members of GSVFD canteen CAN422 and CAN422B are in Ceaderbrook Md to support Arlington County Fire Department at the funeral of Firefighter Larry Wright. On sad occasions as this, our team is honored to provide attendees with a brief respite and location to share memories of FF Wright. Our thoughts and prayers are with FF Wright, his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.

I am pleased to share that the 2026 Springfield Bridge Walk will be on Saturday, August 22. Members of the Franconia-Springfield community will once again march over Veterans Bridge to commemorate the renewal of the United States Army’s Community Covenant. The covenant is an affirmation of support by state and local communities comprised of active, guard, and reservist service members and their families.
Following the march, a community celebration will take place at American Legion Post 176. The celebration will feature entertainment, refreshments, participation from community groups and local businesses, and much more.
