Gemini Poetry

I've just completed the first draft of my poem, and I'm excited to refine it and enhance it with a background later today, bringing it to its full potential...hope you like it

Dear Lord

Dear Lord, I come to you in prayer,
For the devil creeps, and darkness fills the air.
He hides in shadows, lurking near,
But I cry out your name, and he disappears.
Yet, the battle rages, demons left and right,
Negativity surrounds me, a constant fight.
I wield your word, a sword of light,
My shield of faith, against the dark of night.
Father, be with me, on this battlefield,
Enemies at the door, my heart does yield.
Depression, addiction, murder, and strife,
Su***de, robbery, kidnapping, a world in life.
Protect us, Lord, from these demons' sway,
Keep us safe, come what may.
For we are yours, and you are our might,
In your name, we fight, for the light.
So I'll hold on to you, through every test,
And trust in your power, to be my best.
For you are my rock, my shelter, and my guide,
Forever with me, by my side.

This particular piece of poetry is undoubtedly one of my most impactful works to date. I experienced a sudden rush of inspiration which caused me to write it, and I believe it has transformed into a truly beautiful piece that captures the essence of the emotions. I hope you find it as moving as I do.
