Today's SFC's Buy a Day; Make a Difference honoree has been chosen by the staff here at Springfield Family Center, as we honor our friend and community member, Jean Patoine, on what would've been her 76th birthday.
Jean was an amazing community member and truly a force to be reckoned with! She was a champion for so many individuals, groups, and organizations in Springfield and beyond, always ready to lend a hand, offer encouragement, make a connection, or simply get things done.
Jean’s legacy is one of mentorship, friendship, creativity, generosity, and an unmistakable “go-get-’em” attitude. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and turn an idea into action. If there was something that needed to be organized, people who needed to be rallied, or a community that needed a little extra support, Jean was often right there leading the charge.
She was also a wonderful friend to all of us at the Springfield Family Center. For many years, we had the pleasure of working closely with Jean during the Santa Claus Club gift and food box handouts. Her ability to organize her “troops” was truly something worthy of a four-star General! She knew how to make things happen, and she did so with determination, heart, and a genuine care for the people she was helping.
So many lives were touched by Jean’s generosity, kindness, friendship, and unwavering commitment to her fellow community members. She gave so much of herself to Springfield and the surrounding communities, and the impact she made will continue to be felt for years to come.
Jean will be incredibly hard to replace, and she will be missed more than words can express. We feel fortunate to have known her, worked alongside her, and called her our friend.
To Jean’s family and friends, please accept our heartfelt condolences. We hope you find comfort in knowing just how many people loved, admired, and appreciated Jean. She meant so much to our community—and to all of us at the Springfield Family Center. Just know that we loved her almost as much as you did. ❤️ ~The SFC Staff and friends: Steffanie, James, Keegan, and Trisha.
