Last month, several members of our Nixon & Lindstrom team attended Care to Learn's 5th Annual School Soirée here in Springfield.
Care to Learn partners with school districts across Missouri to meet students' emergent health, hunger, and hygiene needs, the kind of everyday gaps that can quietly get in the way of a child's ability to succeed in school. Evenings like this one help fund that work and bring the community together around it.
We're grateful for organizations like Care to Learn and proud to support the work they do for kids across our area.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, and it's worth taking a minute to ask yourself a simple question: if something happened to you, would your family be financially okay?
Life insurance isn't one-size-fits-all. The two most common paths are term life, which provides coverage for a set period like 10, 20, or 30 years, and whole life, which lasts your entire lifetime and builds cash value along the way. Each works differently, and the right fit depends on your goals, your budget, and your stage of life.
Not sure which one makes sense for your situation? That's exactly what we're here for. Let's talk through your options together.

Meet Carmine Ingenito, Commercial Insurance Specialist at Nixon & Lindstrom.
Carmine works with business owners across Missouri to build coverage that actually holds up when something goes wrong, from general liability and commercial property to the more specialized risks that come with running a growing company. His approach is straightforward: understand the business first, then design a policy around the risks that matter most.
Clients count on Carmine for more than just paperwork. They count on him to be in their corner when a claim happens.
That's the kind of partnership that keeps businesses coming back to Nixon & Lindstrom.

September is National Preparedness Month, and here in the Ozarks, severe weather is a year-round concern for business owners, not just a spring problem.
Having a plan matters. So does knowing your commercial property policy actually reflects what you'd need to recover from a tornado, hailstorm, or flood. That includes your building, equipment, and inventory, plus whether your policy helps cover lost income if a storm forces you to temporarily close.
A quick call to your agent now can save a lot of stress later. We're here to help you review your coverage and close any gaps before storm season catches your business off guard.

Last month, members of our Nixon & Lindstrom team headed to Branson for Biz 417's ninth annual Ladies Who Launch conference. This year's theme, Courage Grows Here, carried through two days of keynote sessions, workshops, and honest conversations about leadership, self-trust, and the small choices that shape how we show up for others.
Events like this remind us why we invest in our team's growth, not just their day-to-day skills, but their ability to lead, connect, and make good decisions under pressure. Those are the same qualities our clients count on when they need us most.
Thanks to Biz 417 for putting together another meaningful event, and congratulations on the exciting next chapter as Ladies Who Launch becomes Pretty Brilliant.

Big news from our team! 🎉
Throughout the year, our Nixon & Lindstrom team came together through everyday fundraising efforts, and last month we presented Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks with a check for $10,000!
We're proud supporters of BBBS's Bowl for Kids' Sake, the organization's signature annual fundraiser that brings people together to raise money supporting local mentoring programs, and this year our team helped make it count.
Every dollar goes toward creating meaningful matches between local kids and mentors who help them thrive. We're grateful to be part of that impact.
Thank you to everyone on our team who gave, participated, and showed up for this cause all year long. 💙

Small businesses shouldn't have to choose between offering great health benefits and keeping costs manageable. That's exactly the gap the Missouri Chamber Benefit Plan is designed to close.
It's a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement, or MEWA, that allows small businesses across Missouri to pool together into one large, self-funded group. That means access to more stable pricing and stronger plan options, the kind usually reserved for much larger companies.
Our employee benefits team has the experience to help you evaluate whether a MEWA like this makes sense for your business, alongside every other benefits option out there.
If you're a small business owner rethinking your health benefits strategy, let's talk about what fits.

If a walk-in cooler, POS system, or HVAC unit went down tomorrow, would your commercial policy cover it? For most businesses, the answer is no.
Standard commercial property insurance covers things like fire, wind, and theft, but it typically doesn't cover equipment that breaks down due to mechanical or electrical failure. And that kind of failure can shut down a business fast, whether it's a restaurant losing refrigeration or an office losing its server room.
Systems breakdown coverage is an affordable add-on that helps cover:
✅ HVAC, electrical, and mechanical system failures
✅ Equipment and appliance breakdowns
✅ Power surge damage
✅ Lost income or spoilage tied to a covered breakdown
It's one of those coverages most business owners don't think about until they need it. Let's make sure your policy has you covered.

Move-in day is almost here, and if your student is heading off to an apartment or off-campus housing this month, don't assume they're covered.
Most parents think their homeowners policy protects a student's belongings anywhere they live. In reality, that coverage is limited, and it usually doesn't apply once they're off campus.
A renters policy is inexpensive and covers:
✅ Laptops, furniture, and personal belongings
✅ Liability if someone is injured in their apartment
✅ Theft and fire damage
✅ Additional living expenses if the unit becomes unlivable
A quick call before move-in day can save a lot of stress later.

Meet Marci Ballard — Private Risk Specialist at Nixon & Lindstrom.
Marci helps clients find the right coverage for their life, whatever that looks like. For some, that means a straightforward homeowners and auto policy done right. For others, it means something more customized, like coverage for a high-value home, a growing collection, or multiple vehicles. Either way, her approach starts the same: get to know the client first, then build coverage around what actually matters to them.
That's the kind of personal attention that sets Nixon & Lindstrom apart.
