The Dark Sky Festival is not an SAS-hosted event, but shared as a community recommendation. 🙂

Please note that our October monthly meeting will be held at the Brentwood library 👀 instead of the usual Library Center.

Some pictures of our telescopes at the September 19, 2026 International Observe the Moon Night at Mile 6 Taproom. We had a great night of sharing views of the Moon, and a few other objects, with the public, as well as discussing astronomy, and answering astronomy related questions.

We had several scopes of various types, and a good turnout of people to look through them. It was a fun evening of sharing the night sky, and introducing people to astronomy!

Clever Library Star Party September 14, 2026.

We held our annual Star Party at the Clever Library on September 14, 2026. The temperature was pretty high, but the sky was mostly clear, and we were able to observe the Moon and Venus early, as well as some star clusters and nebula after it got dark enough, and even Saturn before the end of the event.

We had quite a few telescopes, mostly dobs and newts, but also a mak, a Library Telescope, and even a radio telescope!
