Adorable Cali needs your help. She is (of course) a beautiful calico girl and the nicest cat ever. All she wants is to rub her head on you and cuddle. She was spayed and vaccinated at our Git-Meow clinic in 2024. While she was living near Gold Hill Galley, her jaw was seriously damaged by a sudden and traumatic blow to her face. It broke her jaw and knocked out several teeth so hard one of them became embedded in her gums. The injury has not healed and her lower jaw is detached internally on the left side.

The good news is we can get her surgery to repair her! While she was sedated for x-rays they removed the broken tooth which had been causing her pain, she’s just too stoic to show it. Some healing has occurred so she may always have a little tongue hanging out but this will greatly improve her quality of life and she’s only 2 years old with a lot of life left to live.

The total cost for her veterinary care is going to be $6,000. She’s already had her initial exam, sedation x-rays and the broken tooth extraction to relieve her immediate pain. We’ve already spent $1,000 and the next step is her consultation this Wednesday to make a plan for the big surgery and finalize cost. The estimate seeing the x-rays is $4,500. For this kind of unique jaw surgery there is no lower cost option, it requires a dental specialist. We’re moving quickly to prevent her jaw continuing to heal incorrectly. We’re asking for donations from Zelle preferably as there’s zero fees and faster transfer times. We have PayPal and Venmo QR codes as well.

She had a loving owner who brought her to the US but he couldn’t bring her to his next assignment. This is a huge expense for our small organization but without surgery she’ll always have some pain and she deserves the best life possible.

Pico de Gato and Queso are wishing you a happy Cinco de Mayo! These boys are looking for a home where they can get all the attention and lap time they want. They’re very outgoing and playful, very human oriented pets who want to be near their people. They provide endless entertainment and enjoy rolling around with every cat toy we’ve ever given them. They get along with people and dogs, they’re about 2 years old now and were rescued as strays in St. Kitts.
