🐾❤️ Happy National Mutt Day! ❤️🐾

Today we celebrate the one-of-a-kind pups that keep us guessing! Is it a Lab? A Shepherd? A little Beagle...with a splash of "who knows?" That's the magic of mutts—they're wonderfully unique and 100% lovable.

At Animal Emergency Clinic, we know that whether your dog is a purebred, a mixed breed, or a "Heinz 57," they all deserve the very best care. Every wagging tail, goofy grin, and loving heart is worth celebrating.

📸 We want to see your amazing mutts! Drop a picture in the comments and tell us:
🐶 What's your dog's name?
🧬 What's your best guess on their breed mix (or what does everyone think they are)?
❤️ What's one thing that makes them extra special?

Happy National Mutt Day to all the wonderfully unique dogs who remind us that the best things in life are often a little mixed up. 🐾

🚨 Weekend Reminder from Your Friendly Neighborhood ER 🚨

Before your pet decides to "help" with your weekend plans...

✔️ Skip the table scraps.
✔️ Keep medications put away.
✔️ Secure the trash can.
✔️ Hide the socks. (Seriously.)

Let's make this a weekend full of fun memories—not emergency visits. But if your furry family member has other ideas, we'll be here when you need us.

Have a pawsome weekend! 🐾❤️

Animal Emergency Clinic has reopened and will continue providing emergency services as we work through ongoing HVAC repairs. We are still awaiting the arrival of replacement parts for our system. In the meantime, temporary cooling units and fans have been placed throughout the hospital. While these have helped, the building remains warm, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

For this reason, we ask that you please call us before coming to the clinic. Depending on the temperatures inside the hospital, our current patient load, and the nature of your pet's emergency, there may be times when we recommend another emergency facility to ensure your pet receives the safest and most timely care possible.

The safety of our patients, clients, and staff will continue to guide every decision we make. We are monitoring conditions closely throughout the day and will adjust our operations as needed.

We know emergencies don't take holidays, and our team is doing everything possible to remain available throughout the holiday weekend to care for the pets and families in our community. We appreciate your flexibility, understanding, and support as we navigate these temporary challenges.

Thank you for trusting Animal Emergency Clinic with your pet's care. We will continue to provide updates as repairs progress. ❤️🤍💙

🚨We will remain closed overnight Thursday July 2nd. If your pet needs emergency services please contact University of Illinois, TriCounty Emergency Clinic, or Animal Emergency Clinic of Bloomington.

🚨We plan to reopen July 3rd at 8am. Please call ahead as we may have to refer out some cases.

⚠️ Temporary Closure Notice ⚠️

Due to an unexpected air conditioning outage, the Animal Emergency Clinic will be closed until further notice.

We’re working as quickly as possible to get the issue resolved and will evaluate this afternoon whether we can reopen in the evening. We’ll post an update here as soon as we know more.

If your pet is currently hospitalized with us, our team will contact you this morning to discuss the next steps.

We’re so sorry for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you for supporting us—we hope to be back caring for your pets very soon. ❤️

🚨 AEC Facility Update 🚨

We want to keep our clients and community informed that our air conditioning system is currently not functioning properly. Our team is working closely with our HVAC partners to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we have brought in temporary cooling units and are closely monitoring temperatures throughout the hospital. While we are doing everything we can to keep the environment comfortable, we recognize that parts of the building may be warmer than expected.

Please know that patient safety remains our top priority. Our team is continuing to closely monitor our hospitalized patients and adjust care as needed to ensure they remain safe and comfortable.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and trust in our team as we work through this unexpected situation. Thank you for your continued support of Animal Emergency Clinic!

❤️🐾 Our hearts and paws are with the Animal Protective League after the devastating storm damage suffered last night. While we are incredibly thankful that all animals and staff members are safe, we know the loss to their buildings and operations is heartbreaking.

APL does so much for animals in our community, and we stand beside them during this difficult time. Please join us in sending love, support, and encouragement to their team as they begin the process of rebuilding and recovery.

We are thinking of everyone at APL today. ❤️🐾

🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week Spotlight: Sarah 🐾

This week, we’re celebrating an incredible member of our team who wears two very important hats — veterinary assistant and educator.

Sarah is not only a dedicated veterinary assistant here at AEC, but she also shares her knowledge and passion as an instructor for the LLCC Veterinary Assistant Program. She plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals, guiding students with the same compassion, patience, and skill that she brings to our patients every day.

Her ability to teach, mentor, and inspire while continuing to provide hands-on care in a fast-paced emergency setting is truly something special. She brings real-world experience into the classroom and helps students build the confidence they need to succeed in this field.

We are so proud to have Sarah as part of our team and so grateful for the impact she makes both inside our hospital and beyond.

Thank you, Sarah, for everything you do — for your students, your patients, and your AEC family. 🌟🐾
