Twenty-five years ago today, our nation watched tragedy unfold on September 11, 2001. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger to save others. Today, we pause to honor their memory and reflect on the weight of that day.

Even in our darkest moments, we serve a God who is "our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Twenty-five years later, that hasn't changed.

This week on our podcast, "Hey, Listen!", we sit down with David Hall — a member of our church family and former Fire Chief who served in that role on 9/11 — as he shares his firsthand experience of that day, life as a first responder, and where he's found hope in the years since. Bluegrass and Barbecue is coming!

Join us Sunday, September 13 from 4-6pm in the Grove for an evening of live bluegrass music from local musicians and mouthwatering BBQ with all the sides. Bring your appetite and bring your friends — this is a great afternoon of music, food, and fellowship. All ages are welcome!

Grief doesn't follow a schedule, and healing isn't something we're meant to walk through alone.

This September, we're offering GriefShare — a 13-week support group for anyone who has lost a loved one. Each week stands on its own, so you can join in at any point and still walk away with something meaningful. This group is open to Ridgecrest members and to anyone in our community who needs a safe place to process loss.

The session runs September 1 through November 24, with a $20 material cost.
