How much toothpaste does your child actually need?
According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), a little goes a long way when it comes to fluoride toothpaste:
👶 Under age 3: Use a tiny smear about the size of a grain of rice.
🧒 Ages 3–6: Use a pea-sized amount.
Using the right amount helps protect little teeth from cavities while limiting how much toothpaste your child may swallow.

Start brushing when your child’s first tooth appears, and supervise brushing to help them use the proper amount and develop good habits.
