Please give a shout out to Tom Eckhoff our NWS Cooperative Weather Observer in the Cole Camp (Benton County) area. Tom has been the Cooperative Weather observer for the NWS for over 20 years. Tom volunteers his time every morning taking and sending daily 24hr max/min temperature, rainfall, and snowfall readings. Tom started the station March 6th, 2006. Just six days after starting, Tom observed the tornado whose path length was 6 miles long and was 3/8th of a mile wide (https://www.weather.gov/sgf/events_2006mar12). Tom’s k-9 friend, Freckles, pictured in the foreground, likes to assist Tom when he is getting the daily rainfall. Thank you, Tom, for your dedicated service to the Cole Camp community and the NWS.
