Our little ones are in for another treat because ZAKIYA LOFTON is joining us again for THE INTENSIVE - SZN 9! Zakiya will be teaching TINY TOT & PETITE JAZZ and MINI JAZZ FUNK, working on performance quality and building confidence in our young dancers! Can’t wait to see our babies bring it!! 🤩

Zakiya Lofton is a DMV-based dance instructor and choreographer with over 10 years of teaching experience. She specializes in Contemporary, Lyrical, and Jazz and is passionate about creating meaningful choreography while fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where dancers are encouraged to grow in both technique and artistry.

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Zakiya moved to California at age 12, where she continued her dance training and discovered her passion for teaching. In 2020, she returned to Northern Virginia and started Kiwi’s Kidz, a childcare business dedicated to supporting local families. Whether in the dance studio or through childcare, Zakiya is passionate about helping young people build confidence, discover their voice, and reach their full potential.

KAYLEB JONES is back to join us for THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9 and we are so ready! Kayleb is getting everyone back in the groove and working on movement quality in his HIP HOP classes on Thursday, 8/6! Make sure to bring the energy because it’s about to go down!💥

Kayleb Jones is a professional Hip Hop, Jazz funk dancer/choreographer from Charleston WV! Teaching at many studios in West Virginia, and traveling to multiple states doing the same! Whether he’s on a convention circuit teaching, or working professionally he’s always dancing/performing some where! He is the founder and director of Charleston West Virginias own East304crew!

Of course, you know we could not be more excited to have our very own RAYNA REID back home from Minnesota to join us for THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9! Rayna will be working on strengthening technique, power, and consistency in her LEAPS & TURNS classes on Thursday, 8/6, so lock in if you want to level up! The time is NOW! 👊💥

Rayna Reid, 19, is a passionate and accomplished dancer with 16 years of experience and a deep love for performing. She is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Dance Team, where she continues to grow and refine her artistry at the collegiate level. As part of the team, she contributed to their 2026 UDA Pom National Championship title, was awarded BIG 10 rookie of the year, and Minnesota dance team rookie of the year. Prior to college, Rayna trained and competed with Impact Dance Project, where she won multiple national titles, building a strong foundation in both technique and performance.

Everyone please welcome CARA DIXON to THE INTENSIVE - SZN 9! Cara is bringing injury-reductive and technique-driven training with RELATIVE MOTION TECHNIQUE on Thursday, 8/6, so pay attention, dancers! Knowledge is power! 💪

Cara Dixon, co-founder of Relative Motion, is originally from Virginia Beach, VA, where she began her journey as both a student and later an instructor at the renowned Denise Wall’s Dance Energy. Her career has taken her across the globe, performing with several companies, including Cirque Du Soleil and Stiletto Entertainment, and sharing her love for dance on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Cara’s artistry has been showcased not only in performances but also in commercials as both a dancer and a featured teacher. She brought her vision to life by founding her own contemporary dance company in NYC, where her choreography and that of her dancers gained recognition in numerous showcases, and their full-length show raised money for charitable impact.

While in New York, Cara served on the faculty of Broadway Dance Center, leaving an indelible mark on aspiring dancers. The dancers she trains have gone on to perform as leads in Broadway shows, on cruise ships, in music videos and national commercials, along with highly esteemed shows such as the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Now based in Virginia, she is a proud mom to three wonderful boys and continues to travel nationally and internationally, reaching the Relative Motion Technique in masterclasses and teacher trainings, choreographing for studios and companies, and serving as an adjudicator and convention instructor. Cara is deeply committed to the transformative impact of Relative Motion, designed to empower teachers and elevate the training of
dancers globally, and is honored to serve the dance community through the RM mission.

Next up on THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9 lineup is the talented SHANLEY CODD! Shanley will be exploring movement and artistry in her CONTEMPORARY classes on Wednesday, 8/5, so be prepared to express yourself and be inspired! This is going to be a good one! ✨

Shanley graduated from University of Maryland College Park with a BA in Psychology. She teaches/choreographs as full-time faculty at Level Dance Project as the contemporary director for their competition team. In addition, she is also a personal trainer and has extensive education in corrective exercises. Shanley shortly began to train with :Pushing Progress company, allowing her to expand her knowledge with choreographers and teachers throughout NY, such as Calen Kurka, Chris Hale, Stacey Tookey, Brian and Scott Nicholson, Shelly Hutchinson, Maya Escueta, Anna Vollmar, and Kathy VanDereedt. Shanley attended Goucher College where she was asked to perform in the Fall and Spring gala showcase choreographed by Trebian Polland, Rick Southerland, Katherine Morris, Elizabeth Ahearn. The following year she was accepted into the :Pushing Progress training program in NY. Throughout the year, she was able to work closely with choreographers such as Lauren Adams, Sidra Bell, Jen Lancaster, Bryn Cohen and Loni Landon. Her dancers have been accepted into schools such as Pace, NYU, USC- Kaufman, Montclair, Suny Purchase, and many more phenomenal institutions on scholarship.

We’re so proud and happy to welcome AVERY WOLAK, one of our DAY ONES, back home for THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9! Avery will be teaching TINY TOT LYRICAL and PETITE & MINI POM on Wednesday, 8/5, so make sure you bring all the faces and energy, little ones! You’re in for a treat! 🤗

Avery Wolak is a former iMpact Dance Project dancer and a recent high school graduate. In the fall she will attend The Pennsylvania State University where she will be on the 3x National Award Winning Lionettes Dance Team. In high school Avery took her training to Center Stage Dance Studio in Ohio. There she was a part of the Pre-Professional program for three years and a member of the assistant training program. She also competed as co-captain of the Center Stage All Stars at JamFEST Super Dance Nationals where the team took home silver in Pom. Over the summer she has spent time assisting multi-style dance classes, teaching technique privates and choreographing the Junior All Stars Pom routine for next season. She is extremely excited to be back in her hometown to teach where she once danced.

We’re powering through THE INTENSIVE lineup with the dynamic CED MCFADDEN! On Wednesday, 8/5, Coach Ced will be working with our dancers on STRENGTH & CONDITIONING to build power, stamina, control and endurance! Dancers, get ready to train like the athletes you are and put in the WORK! 💪

Cedrick is the founder of ALYND Studios, a performance and wellness company with locations in Landover, MD and Washington, DC.

The Landover location serves as a performance hub, offering 1-on-1 and semi-private training, youth athlete development, speed training, and small-group strength and conditioning classes. Clients also receive biomechanical assessments and targeted manual treatment to address movement limitations and prevent injury.

The Washington, DC location focuses on recovery and wellness, providing services that support longevity, restoration, and overall health.

MAKE SOME NOISE because KAYLA QUARLES is back for THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9!! Kayla is turning up the sound and rhythm in her TAP classes on Wednesday, 8/5, so lace up them tap shoes and get those feet moving! We already know this will be music to our ears!! 🎶

Kayla Quarles is an inventive young choreographer and dance educator from Central Virginia. She studied dance and performing arts from the age of five at The Orange School of Performing Arts under the direction of her uncle, Ricardo Porter. She trained and competed in multiple forms of dance to include Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Hip Hop and her personal favorite Tap.

Kayla’s career in choreography started in 2017 instructing students at her home studio. She works with students of all ages in various dance companies across Virginia. Her choreography has achieved numerous victories and the highest acclaim at both regional and national competitions. Kayla’s choreography shows reverence to traditional tap dance, while incorporating intricate, dynamic layered rhythms. It blends multiple styles of dance and includes eye catching transitions with a distinct display of swag.

Her passion for all things dance consistently grows. She is devoted to inspiring the next generation and finds great joy in sharing her energy and love for tap with all.

Please welcome one of our favorites back to THE INTENSIVE - the phenomenal JESS BEACH! Jess is coming through with CONTEMPORARY FUSION on Tuesday, 8/4, so come ready to be challenged and be pushed beyond your comfort zone! 😅

Jess Beach is a Pennsylvania native who believes in always being a student. She has trained for more than 30 years in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre throughout New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania and across the East and West Coasts under noted dancers and choreographers including Nicolas Petrov, founder of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Ilya Gaft of the Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre. Jess studied at La Roche College’s Conservatory for Ballet and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Point Park University with a BA in Dance and a concentration in Jazz.

While in Pittsburgh, Jess performed for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Pirates and as a backup dancer for Neil Young and Crazy Horse under the direction of Russ Tamblyn. After graduation, she toured professionally for six years with Holland America Cruise Lines through Stiletto Entertainment, performing around the world and working with choreographers including Patti Colombo, John Charron, Jill Hillier and Carla K**a.

For the past 20 years, Jess has continued her career as an educator, mentor and choreographer. She served as Master Jazz Instructor for the inaugural AileyCamp Baltimore, Artist in Residence and Instructor at Howard Community College and Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, and adjunct faculty for the BFA Dance program at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She has also worked as a rehearsal director, assistant choreographer, company director and commercial choreographer.

A sought-after Master Instructor, adjudicator and award-winning choreographer, Jess travels nationally and internationally teaching, choreographing and judging. Her work has taken her to Florence, Italy, and Edinburgh, Scotland. She remains humbled to continue following her passion and sharing her enthusiasm for dance with her students.

Be prepared to be THUNDERSTRUCK because former DCC, VICTORIA KALINA, is joining us for THE INTENSIVE: SZN 9! Victoria will be bringing that power and precision to her dynamic NFL STYLE classes on Tuesday, 8/4, so get those high kicks ready! This is going to be next level! ⚡️

Victoria began dancing at the age of 2. She spent 17 years training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre and styles. Victoria spent 10 years competing in her studio’s dance company. During high school, she was also a member of her studio’s professional performing company which performed at various events around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. She has attended dance conventions to train with other choreographers and has won numerous scholarships and awards. Victoria has been teaching ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical for the past 10 years. Victoria is a former four year veteran of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) and a four year member of the DCC traveling show group. She was featured on Netflix’s “America’s Sweethearts,” a documentary about the DCC as well as CMT’s “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team”. While she was a DCC, she was a trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School in Texas. Victoria recently moved to New York City to continue dance training. She started her own business, Victoria Kalina Dance, and teaches pom and dance technique privates, dance classes and masterclasses all over the US.
