Many employers assume workplace accommodations are expensive. The data tells a different story.

According to the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), 49% of workplace accommodations cost the employer nothing to implement. When there is a one-time cost, the median expense is just $300.

JAN also found that employers reported benefits including improved retention, increased productivity, and reduced training costs.

Viability's Employer Workplace Solutions team helps employers understand workplace accommodations, connect with qualified candidates, and navigate the hiring process.

No placement fees.

Employment goals look different for everyone.

At Viability's Clubhouses, members can explore employment through three options:

• Transitional Employment: paid jobs with support from Clubhouse staff
• Supported Employment: help finding and maintaining employment that fits a member's goals
• Independent Employment: support for members pursuing employment on their own

Members move at their own pace. There is no deadline and no pressure. The Clubhouse remains a source of support every step of the way.

Employment support is available at all five Viability Clubhouses.

July is Disability Pride Month, which began with the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990.

This year's theme, chosen by self-advocates, says it well: the world works better with us.

Pride isn't earned by what you do. It's the simple truth that a person is worthy of respect and belonging exactly as they are.

For 55 years, Viability has been a not-for-profit organization supporting the life each person chooses, through our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Independent Living Services, Community Living, Adult Family Care, Clubhouses, Day Programs, Employment Services, and Youth Career Readiness.

This month and every month, we celebrate our community. Happy Disability Pride Month, and thank you for helping us Thrive Beyond Limits.
