Peter Wilson, Director The Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) was founded in 1943.

Music Director Peter Stafford Wilson conducts 72 of the area's finest professional musicians in a six concert subscription series, a concert for the Springfield Arts Council Summer Arts Festival, an educational Young People's Concert and special outreach concerts for under-served parts of the community.
