What a week celebrating our DSPs! 💜🎉

Firefly teams across Missouri went all out for DSP Recognition Week! Celebrations looked a little different at each location, with everything from pancake breakfasts and walking tacos to spirit days, team challenges, prizes and special awards.

It’s Direct Support Professional Recognition Week! 🎉

September 13–19, we’re joining ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources and organizations across the country in celebrating the incredible DSPs who make a difference every day.

Across Firefly, our DSPs support individuals with disabilities in living more independently, reaching their goals and being active members of their communities.

We’re grateful for the care, dedication and heart our DSPs bring to their work each and every day. 💜 Thank you to all of our Firefly DSPs for everything you do!

In observance of Labor Day, Firefly offices and Day Programs will be closed Monday, September 7. We will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

We’re grateful for our incredible team and all they do each day to support the individuals and communities we serve.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day!

What better reason to celebrate? 🏆🎉

Our Joplin team recently held its first-ever Client Success Awards, recognizing the achievements, growth and resilience of the incredible individuals we support!

With more than 130 nominations submitted, there was a LOT to celebrate, from growing independence and reaching employment goals to supporting peers, getting involved in the community and overcoming personal challenges.

Congratulations to all of our nominees and award recipients! 💜🧡 We loved getting to celebrate YOU!

🍎 Fall fun is officially on the calendar at El Dorado Springs Day Program!

September is packed with hands-on activities, outdoor adventures and plenty of opportunities to get out into the community. Here are a few dates to remember:

📅 Sept. 7: Day Program CLOSED for Labor Day
🎳 Sept. 8: Bowling in Nevada. Please bring $6.
🥾 Sept. 11: Ha Ha Tonka Hiking. Please bring a cold lunch.
🌰 Sept. 25: Black Walnut Festival in Stockton. Please bring a cold lunch or money to purchase lunch.

There’s even more happening throughout the month, including apple-themed activities, fall crafts, science experiments, a museum tour, and more. Check out the full September calendar so you don’t miss the fun! 🍂

🍂 September is bringing plenty of fall fun to Joplin Day Program!

From crafts and cooking to football fun and a day at the splash pad, there’s lots to look forward to this month. A few dates to keep on your calendar:

📅 Sept. 7: Day Program CLOSED for Labor Day
🏈 Sept. 25: Tailgate Party at noon! Hamburgers, hot dogs, and sides will be provided. Individuals are encouraged to bring a dessert to share.
💦 Sept. 30: Water Day at King Jack Park Splash Pad beginning at 11 a.m. Please bring a sack lunch, swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes if needed.

Plus, we’ll have Walking Club, Cooking Class and plenty of fall-themed crafts and activities throughout the month!

📍 Raytown Office Closure

Our Firefly Raytown office will be closed Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28 due to maintenance repairs.

We anticipate reopening for normal operations on Monday, August 31. We’ll share an update if anything changes.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!

Exciting progress on our new supportive living duplexes! 💜 We’re thankful for great partners like Napredak Builders LLC and Hood-Rich Architecture who are helping create more opportunities for individuals to live independently with the support they need. We can’t wait to see more as construction continues!
