Joshua is an HVAC/R student who consistently demonstrates MTI's PRIDE values through his positive attitude, commitment to his education, and willingness to support those around him. ❄️🔧💙

💙 Positive Attitude – Joshua brings a great attitude to both the classroom and lab, helping encourage and inspire his peers.

💙 Respect – He consistently shows respect to his instructors, classmates, campus visitors, and the HVAC/R lab while helping create a welcoming learning environment.

💙 Initiative – Joshua takes an active role in his education by taking thorough notes, requesting diagrams, and asking for additional help when needed. He isn't afraid to advocate for his education and make sure he understands the material.

⚡ Teamwork + Communication + Hands-On Training! 🔌

Students in MTI’s Electrician Program at our Springfield, MO campus recently put their communication skills to the test with a hands-on team-building exercise! 👏

Working in groups of three, each student took on a different role:

💙 The Planner – Developed the plan for completing the circuit
💙 The Eyes/Communicator – Communicated the instructions to the team
💙 The Hands – Followed the directions to physically build the circuit

The goal? Work together and communicate effectively to build a circuit consisting of a switched receptacle! ⚡🔧

Exercises like this give students the opportunity to practice technical skills while strengthening the teamwork and communication skills they can carry with them into the trades.
