Up next in the Springfield Pottery workshop series is animal sculpting with Maddy on September 12th.
Maddy will lead students through sculpting, texturing, hollowing out and supporting the form all the way through the process. It'll be fun!

We are excited to announce that Kendle Durden will be teaching a sprig mold workshop at Springfield Pottery on Saturday!
We will make our own designs, take a mold from them and discuss how to use them!
Plus, bonus playing with silicone to make some molds.

During this workshop; we will discuss tools, transfer techniques and design, then revisit some existing skills and interesting new ways to combine techniques for different results. If you'd like to work with your own designs, please bring a simple line drawing to work from.

🏺 Take a Design in Surface & Form Workshop at Snow Farm with Bekah Bliss
✨August 16th-21st, 2026✨
Sharpen your design eye while exploring the process of creating mugs, bowls, and vase forms with hand building techniques including slab, coil, and pinch methods. Apply fundamental design principles and color theory to your surface design additions and use texture tools, incising lines, and painting color shifts to emphasize each vessel’s unique characteristics. A brief overview of terra sigillata (thin colored slip) making and application to bone dry pots will be included and each student will go home with two types of terra sigillata to continue testing at home. Instruction will focus on learning through experimentation and maintaining an open mindset in your studio practice. Sign up at snowfarm.org 🏺
