Meet the Mattax Neu Prater Doctors!

Dr. Marla Smith received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. She completed additional training in the treatment of ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Before joining Mattax Neu Prater, she was the attending optometrist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Mt. Vernon, MO.

Last night, our team celebrated Dr. Thomas G. Prater's retirement. Many colleagues, friends, and family gathered at the Aviary Cafe to speak about his devotion to his patients and community throughout his impactful career. With lots of laughter and a few tears. 💕

Congratulations on 39 years of serving patients and the Springfield, Missouri community. Well done, Dr. Prater!
