NYC law students and CLS mentors gathered for an evening of connection, encouragement, and fellowship. We’re excited for the year ahead!

Christian Legal Society invites our members and friends to pray for CLS Board member Morse Tan during a challenging season.

Morse, who formerly served as U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice, is facing criminal defamation charges in South Korea stemming from remarks he made during a 2025 speech at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. After traveling to South Korea in June, he was placed under an exit ban and has not been permitted to leave the country. His trial is scheduled for September 11.

Please pray for Morse, his family, and his legal team in the weeks ahead. Ask the Lord to grant them peace, strength, wisdom, and protection, and pray that Morse will soon be able to return home.

We also ask for prayer that everyone involved in the proceedings will act with wisdom and integrity, that the process will be fair and transparent, and that due process and the rule of law will be respected.

We are grateful for the CLS community joining together in prayer for Morse and all those affected by this situation.

As the school year gets into full swing, CLS law student chapters are already building community!

On August 21, law student leaders from three Chicago-area law schools gathered with CLS leaders, InterVarsity representatives, and Christian attorneys for an annual leadership event focused on fellowship, encouragement, and strengthening their chapters.

We look forward to seeing more photos and hearing stories from CLS chapters across the country this year. We’re praying for our law students and chapter leaders as you grow in faith, fellowship, and community!
