One thing I’ve learned as a small business owner is just how powerful word of mouth and social media can be. Referrals, tags, shares, comments, and simply interacting with our posts can make a huge difference.

Advertising can be one of our biggest expenses, so when I went to share our booking link today and Facebook told me that it now comes with a cost, I’ll admit, I was a little bummed. Honestly, I’m surprised it took this long, but it’s still frustrating to know that the algorithm and the ever changing ways of social media are making it even harder for small businesses to reach the people who need us.

Big Life Update (and a temporary pause on hair!) ✂️❤️

​Alright everyone, the universe certainly has a sense of humor! On August 24th yes, literally the day before the first day of school AND the day before my 35th birthday I am going in for back surgery. Talk about an unforgettable birthday present! 🎁

​Because I’ll be under strict restrictions, I’m going to be out for about 6 to 8 weeks while I heal. Honestly, I’m already going crazy not being able to do hair, so sitting still during this recovery is going to be my biggest test!

​Here’s what you need to know while I’m away:

While I’m resting up, my incredible coworkers at Extra Care Hair Co. , Kate at Extra Care Hair Co. and Kristen Gossett, literally have my back. They are covering my clients, managing rescheduling, and keeping things running smoothly. Huge thank you to them not just for covering me but for checking in on me and visiting me at home. I truly have the absolute best coworkers in the world!
