Founded in 1908, we are a K-12 College Prep Laboratory School on the Missouri State University campus Greenwood students excel in research and public speaking.

Greenwood Lab School has been certified by AdvancED since 1927. Greenwood is best known for it's finest tradition: academic excellence. K-12 students receive academically rigorous instruction from Master, Specialist and Doctoral level teachers. Offering state-of-the-art technology and inquiry based learning in a small class environment, our staff have prepared graduates to attend some of the finest universities across our nation. Instruction begins in elementary grades and culminates with a senior level capstone project. K-12 students are inspired to use essential critical thinking, service learning and communication skills. Our secondary students conveniently take college courses at Missouri State University for full college credit and receive a separate transcript from MSU upon graduation. Students select advanced college courses in their planned field of study to enhance their resume for university admittance. High School students may also receive a Greenwood Public Affairs Honors Diploma with endorsements in a variety of subject areas. Our 6 -12 students participate in the Greenwood STEM Collaborative (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.) Greenwood students consistently attain the highest ACT average when compared to all local and area schools. Greenwood's unique K-12 educational atmosphere promotes a legacy of learning, a tradition since 1908. The Greenwood Scholars' Program, a financial aid program established in 2015, is based upon academics and citizenship offering a need based tuition supplement.

Third grade enjoyed learning stations Friday related to fall!
They read informational texts, charted the best way to eat apples, explored what happens to pinecones submerged in warm water, measured circumference of apples, created arrays and equations with Apple Jacks, and of course sampled apples and homemade applesauce that cooked all morning in class!

Look for some fabulous fall descriptive writing in the halls soon!

Señor Cordova's 6th grade Spanish class visited the library this morning to acquaint themselves with the new bilingual Spanish English book collection. They did an awesome job reading together as a group and with a buddy.
We look forward to Señora Barnhuse’s middle school Spanish class visiting soon. It is wonderful to see students utilizing the new library materials.
