We’ve lost some good ones lately. Annie Dillard and Wendell Berry were both some of the finest thinkers and writers of the last 50 years, and their deaths in recent days leave an unfillable void in American literature and in the lives of everyone who loved their books.

Luckily for all of us, they also left behind large bodies of work encompassing poetry, fiction, essays, memoirs, and more. Whether you’re new to their writing or you’ve been reading them for years, they both gave us a lifetime’s worth of wonderful books, and their best work is well worth revisiting again and again.

We have a few titles by both Wendell and Annie in stock at Flagship, but used copies of their stuff have always tended to move quickly. If there’s a specific book by either of them that you’d like to order, or if you’d like to start exploring their work and want some advice about where to start, come in and talk to us, we’d be glad to help.
