There are moments in business that remind you why you kept going, even when the road felt uncertain.
I’m so excited to share that we have been recognized as a winner by the Excellence Awards Global. This recognition means so much because Bailey Bug has always been about something bigger than a product. It was built to honor my sister Bailey and to make life a little easier for families and individuals who use wheelchairs.
What started as an idea has grown into a mission that has reached families, schools, camps, hospitals, and organizations.
I am incredibly thankful to everyone who has believed in Bailey Bug along the way. Our customers, supporters, partners, friends, and family have all been part of this journey. Your encouragement has meant more than you know.
Most of all, thank you, Bailey. Your life continues to inspire this mission every single day.
Here’s to continuing to create products with purpose and making the world a little more accessible, one coat at a time. 💙

In case you missed it, I had the opportunity to join ’s All Sides with Amy Juravich to talk about Bailey Bug and the mission behind creating safer, more accessible coats for wheelchair users.
I’m so grateful to the WOSU team for having me on and for helping continue an important conversation about accessibility, innovation, and designing products that make everyday life a little easier for families and caregivers.
If you’d like to listen to the segment, you can find it on their website under All Sides with Amy Juravich.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Bailey Bug and believed in this mission. Every conversation helps bring more awareness to the needs of the wheelchair community, and I’m excited to keep that momentum going.

We are honored to share that our founder and CEO, Melanie Barrett, was featured by and as part of the 2026 Inspiring Women series.
Bailey Bug began with Bailey, Melanie’s sister, whose life continues to inspire everything behind this mission. Her story reminds us that inclusive design is not just about products. It is about seeing people fully, caring for them well, and creating with dignity in mind.
What started as one family’s love for Bailey has grown into a purpose driven company helping make outerwear safer, more comfortable, and more thoughtful for people in wheelchairs.
We are grateful for every door God has opened, every person who has supported this mission, and every opportunity to continue carrying Bailey’s light forward.
Thank you to Columbus Monthly and Columbus CEO for sharing this story and recognizing the heart behind Bailey Bug.
