Paul wrote to the Philippians from a prison cell, not knowing whether he'd live or die, and it may be the most joyful letter he ever wrote.

This Sunday, Rev. Geoff Weinman brings a message based on Philippians 1:21-30. Paul is weighing his own future: stay and keep serving the church he loves, or depart and be with Christ. Either way, he says, he wins. Living means more Christ-centered work, and dying means being with Christ face to face. Not a bad set of options.

But Paul isn't writing to the Philippians about escaping hardship. He's writing to a church facing real opposition and real pressure, and he urges them to live "worthy of the gospel": to stand firm together, to strive side by side, and to refuse to be frightened. The struggle they see in Paul is the same one they're in, and none of them are facing it alone.

It's a word that lands just as squarely today. Whatever weighs on us, whether it's fear, uncertainty, or weariness, we don't carry it as individuals. We carry it as a family held together by Christ.

So come Sunday. Bring your worries, your weariness, and your hope.

Some things in faith are black and white. Most of them aren't.

This Sunday, Rev. Geoff Weinman tackles the gray areas head-on with a message titled "Some Do...Some Don't," based on Romans 14:1-12. In this passage, Paul is writing to a church family torn over real disagreements—what to eat, which days were holy, how strictly to follow the old customs. Some believers thought certain rules still mattered. Others had let them go entirely. Sound familiar?

Paul's answer isn't to settle the debate. It's to reframe the whole question. "Some do...some don't"—and that's alright, because none of us live or die for ourselves alone. We belong to God, and so does the person we disagree with. Paul's not asking us to fall in line. He's asking us to stop playing judge over each other's convictions and trust that we're all answering to the same gracious God in the end.

It's a message that feels just as needed now as it did two thousand years ago—a reminder that unity was never meant to mean uniformity.

And this Sunday, we've got even more reason to celebrate together—our beloved Chancel Choir returns from their summer break! Their voices have been missed, and worship just sounds fuller with them back on the chancel, led by Director of Music Marvin Murphree and Organist Hayden Vaugh.

So come Sunday — bring your questions, your convictions, and your curiosity. We'll figure it out together!
