Lee's musical journey began with a middle school band teacher who inspired a lifelong passion for music- a passion he spent his career passing on to the next generation. From leading award-winning school programs to developing music education initiatives across Massachusetts, Lee has dedicated his career to helping young musicians discover their potential.

Now, he's bringing that passion to the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras. Guided by his belief that "the best music happens within the community" and that "every young musician deserves a path forward," Lee will help grow our youth programs while creating even more opportunities for students to gain real-world musical experiences alongside professional musicians.

Today, we remember a dear friend of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Ed Cohen.

Ed was more than a talented photographer. He was a devoted supporter of the arts and a familiar face at so many of our concerts and community events. Through his lens, he captured countless moments of joy, connection, and music that we will cherish forever.

We are deeply grateful for the time, talent, and heart he shared with our organization and our community. His photographs will continue to tell the story of the Symphony for years to come.
