Meet Chef Lee! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³β€οΈ

For more than a year and a half, Chef Lee has served as the Food Service Director at the Springfield Rescue Mission, using his creativity and passion to transform donated food into delicious, nutritious meals for our guests every day.

Whether he's creating a hearty breakfast, serving lunch, or preparing dinner, every meal is made with more than just ingredients...it’s made with love. Love for cooking. Love for bringing joy to others. And most importantly, love for serving our community.

Here are a few fun facts about Chef Lee:

πŸŒ€ He got married during a hurricane!
🀡 He planned his entire wedding (except for his bride's dress!)
πŸ‘¦ He loves creating fun games for his grandchildren.
🧒 He's a big fan of classic dad jokes.

We're so thankful to have Chef Lee as part of the Springfield Rescue Mission family. His heart for service is reflected in every meal he prepares.

πŸ’¬ Let's get to know each other! What's your favorite comfort food? Give Chef Lee some inspiration in the comments below!

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Hawa! 🌟

Hawa is a dedicated volunteer who arrives ready to work and immediately jumps into helping in our warehouse. She works quickly and efficiently, accomplishing a great deal in a short amount of time. Hawa plays an important role in sorting donations and keeping our giveaway center shelves stocked and organized. Her reliability and positive contribution help us better serve our community every day. We’re extremely blessed to have her.

Have you considered volunteering for the Springfield Rescue Mission? Some say helping in our warehouse is therapeutic. Others like it because they see their progress instantly. The warehouse is truly the hub of our organization. It hosts all the necessities for the men we serve and supports the community in need. Every item sorted and every shelf stocked helps make a difference in someone's life. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, we'd love to have you join our volunteer team! DID YOU KNOW...

At the Springfield Rescue Mission, we serve an average of:

πŸ₯ž 100 men, women, and children at our Public Breakfast
πŸ₯ͺ 100 more guests during our Public Lunch

That's approximately 200 meals served every day of operation to neighbors in our community who need them most.

For many, these meals are more than just food. They're a reminder that someone cares, a place to find hope, and often the first step toward a brighter future.

Because of the generosity of our community, no one who comes to our doors seeking a meal is turned away. Thank you for helping us serve with compassion, dignity, and love. ❀️

Congratulations gentlemen! πŸŽ‰

A group of men from not only our New Life Program, but a couple staff members as well, attended SRM's Conflict Resolution Class taught by Pastor Brown. From left to right, Jared, Matt, [Pastor Brown], Alex, Theron, Brandon, Will and Scott all recently completed this course. Each of these men were so grateful to have attended this class and learn the biblical teachings and understandings that are necessary for real life application.

πŸ’™ A Gift That Honors a Legacy of Love πŸ’™

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ramona and her daughters for generously making and donating 100 ham and cheese sandwiches to Springfield Rescue Mission's Operation SONshine, mobile feeding ministry, in loving memory of her parents.

This thoughtful gift is more than a meal. It is a beautiful tribute that reflects a legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity. Because of your support, individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship throughout our community will receive not only nourishment, but also the reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Thank you for honoring your parents' memory in such a meaningful way and for helping us share hope, one meal at a time.

❀️ Your generosity is making a lasting difference.

🏍️❀️ What an incredible day! THANK YOU! ❀️🏍️

Our hearts are full as we reflect on the success of our 3rd Annual Ride to End Homelessness this past Sunday.

First and foremost, THANK YOU to every rider, passenger, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and supporter who made this event so special. Whether you registered to ride, joined us for the festivities, donated or simply shared our event with others, you played an important role in helping us bring hope to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect! The roads were filled with camaraderie, and judging by all the smiles, and empty plates πŸ˜‹ we'd say the food was a huge hit!

A special thank you goes to the Police Departments from the communities along our route. Your professionalism and dedication ensured our riders traveled safely from start to finish, and we are truly grateful for your support.

To our amazing volunteers...thank you for giving your time, dedication and energy. Because of you, everything came together so seamlessly.

And finally, our biggest shout-out goes to Bryan and the entire Sheldon's Harley-Davidson and Old School Harley-Davidson family. Your generosity, leadership, and passion for this event helped make the Ride to End Homelessness an incredible success. Thank you for sponsoring, supporting, organizing, and believing in this mission. We are honored to have you riding beside us as we work together to help end homelessness.

Together, we proved that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, lives can be changed.

From all of us at the Springfield Rescue Mission, thank you for making this year's Ride one to remember. ❀️
