Providing vocabulary is a big piece of educating kids on safe boundaries. It's up to grownups to give our kids permission to establish safe boundaries and then respect them.

As we look at student safety this month, we cannot overemphasize the important role trusted adults play in the life of each one. THANK YOU to our teachers, administrators, counselors and coaches for being alert to sudden changes in behavior and other sings of distress.

The data is clear. When teenagers have secure attachments with their father—a father who is parenting them sensitively, validating their identity—they will likely not just survive the tricky waters of adolescence, but thrive.

This is not a case of dad simply enhancing mum’s input, as is so often the suggestion put forward by those who seek to diminish the importance of fathers, but of making a unique contribution, distinct from that of mothers.
