Wilder Elementary School

Here is the Wilder Blast for October!

Wilder Blast Wilder Blast

Today we kicked off our 417 reads initiative and what fun we had! We had the best volunteers come and read to our third and fourth graders today. This afternoon our third and fourth graders got to take a book home for their home library!

We love the support our community provides to help us grow our students reading abilities.

We only captured our third grade classes this month, but don’t worry our volunteers will be back!

Thanks to our PTA for poppin in today! It was a great treat during the day as well as a good after school snack to prepare for Open House/SPSU.

We have the most fun welcoming families into the building tonight!

We hope you can join us Thursday night! Doors 1 and 6 will be open, so you can enter through the front or the back parking lot. You can pick up an agenda on your way in. Here is what our night looks like!

Doors 1 and 6 will be open for you to enter this event!

Attendance is important at Wilder and in SPS. We know if students don't attend, they are missing out on learning and community building. Our doors open at 7:00, and we start school at 7:20. If you drop your student off at the front door after 7:20, they are considered late.

If mornings are hard in your family, you might consider waking up 5 minutes earlier to give more time for a good start.

As we kickoff a new school year, we are working hard to memorize our PRIDE Pledge. We say this every morning before going to class. You can say it at home too!

Wilder's SPS U and Open House is on September 24th from 5:00-6:30. We hope to see you there!

At Wilder, we have PRIDE Expectations around our building to help teach our students the Wilder Way. When you visit our building, you will see these posted in common spaces. All our teachers reinforce these expectations; this is one way your students earn PRIDEful Paws!

You can help us at home by going over these expectations with your students.
