In AIC's Victimology course, students gained a deeper understanding of the human side of crime by hearing firsthand from individuals directly impacted by violent crime, as well as the law enforcement professionals who investigated those cases.

Through conversations with guest speakers Penna and retired State Police Sgt. Ronald Gibbons, Professor John Delaney helps students see beyond the facts of a case and better understand the empathy, responsibility, and service required in the criminal justice profession.

Our Student Life team kept the summer fun going on campus with a Dirty Soda pop-up in July 🥤

American International College has received a $375,000 grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) to continue transforming opportunities for students pursuing careers in the life sciences.

The award builds on a 2024 MLSC grant and will support upgrades to laboratory space in AIC’s Old Science Building, including infrastructure improvements and the installation of molecular biology instrumentation. The enhanced learning environment will give students in biology, interdisciplinary science, applied laboratory science, and health sciences programs greater access to the tools and techniques used in biotechnology, medical diagnostics, and research.

AIC, Starfires host clinic for Square One children On July 17, children enrolled in the Square One school-age summer program were treated to a morning of hitting, catching, fielding and running bases, thanks to coaches and players from the Westfield Starfires and American International College’s baseball and softball teams.

Congratulations to Associate Professor of Education Tim Allen, whose recent article on essential mindsets for teachers has been published by MiddleWeb Resources, a widely read online resource for middle school educators.

Congratulations to AIC Provost Michael Dodge, EdD, on receiving an inaugural Commonwealth Pride Award from the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Legislative Caucus!

Nominated by State Representative Patricia Duffy of Holyoke, Dr. Dodge was recognized for his leadership in higher education, dedication to student success, and longstanding commitment to serving the Holyoke community.

Last week, members of the AIC Baseball and American International College Softball teams joined players from the Westfield Starfires at our Judy Groff Field to host a youth clinic for the children from Square One.

"Being able to share my softball and baseball knowledge with the kids through activities and drills was truly rewarding. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a positive event, share a sport I love, and hopefully inspire a few future players along the way," said AIC junior Trinity LaValley, a pitcher on the softball team.

The clinic also featured Starfires and longtime AIC Baseball standout Josh Frometa ’25, now an assistant coach with the Starfires. His presence was a great reminder of the lasting impact AIC student-athletes can have both on and off the field 🐝💛
