Rock for a Reason

For a time, I thought that this fun, amazing event was my goodbye to the world. It sounds dramatic but seven small masses in my brain, a stroke, and five hours of Gamma Knife radiation is quite dramatic and deadly. But….”here I am. Ready to rock you like a Hurricane.” 😂

Our next event on May 15th at The State Theater will be managed by Madelyn Smith, my daughter.

I worked my brain hard last year. I have all the decorations, the setting, and some sponsors from last year.

We are looking for volunteers for our planning committee this year. I found all of our sponsors but one last year. We need more sponsors. If you want to be on the planning committee, be prepared to promote this event, and “pound the pavement” for sponsors. Please contact me or Madelyn. It will be fun for a great cause!

Our first meeting for our 2027 event will be August 11th at The Co-Hatch/Meyers Market at 7:00 p.m.

Help me celebrate that somehow I’m still alive and kicking, and raise funds for Meningioma Mommas research and brain cancer warriors.

Next year, May 15th, here we come!

Springfield ‘Rock for a Reason’ event raises $60K for research With a nod to a 1973 hit by Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Shelley Dillow took to Facebook April 30 to announce that her fundraiser at Springfield’s State Theater a dozen days earlier

We took care of business for sure: $60,105 for research due to a few last minute donors! Save the date: May 15th, 2027 at The State Theater! Coming back bigger and better with more help!
