Merit Preparatory Academy

Mentoring is at the heart of everything we do at Merit Academy!

We're excited to launch the Merit Online Mentoring Initiative—a new tuition-free program connecting caring mentors with students across Utah, while supporting your current school, homeschool, or educational program.

As part of our Founding Cohort, students will enjoy:

🔹 A caring mentor who knows and encourages them.
🔹 Weekly goals that build confidence and purpose.
🔹 Leadership and life skills for lasting success.
🔹 Connections with other students across Utah.

Open to all Utah students in grades 7–12.

Our Regional Tournament will take place;
9/23, 9/25, and 9/28, at home or away depending
on how the season ends.

The State 1A/2A Fall Tournament will take
place 10/2, 10/6 - 10/10; sites TBD.

PRACTICES:
Tue - Fri, 7/28 - 7/31, 9 - 11 am;
Tue 8/4 & Wed 8/5, 9 - 11 am;
Fri 8/7, 9 - 11 am; Tue 8/11, 2 - 4 pm;
Thu 8/13 & Fri 8/14, 2 - 4 pm.

Once school starts on Mon 8/17,
practices will take place from 3:30 - 5 pm
at the school (when no game is
scheduled), except when there is no game
on Friday, practice will be 2 - 3:30 pm.

Happy Pioneer Day, Merit Families!

Merit Academy wants to wish all of our wonderful students, parents, and staff a very happy and safe Pioneer Day!

What is Pioneer Day?
Celebrated every year on July 24th, Pioneer Day is an official Utah holiday that commemorates the arrival of the first preservationist pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Led by Brigham Young, these early settlers completed a grueling journey across the plains in search of a place to build a new community.

Today, this day isn't just about history, it’s a celebration of resilience, community, hard work, and the rich heritage of all the diverse people who have shaped Utah into the incredible place it is today.

At Merit, we love honoring that same spirit of determination and community leadership in our students every single day!

Whether you are enjoying local parades, watching the fireworks, or just relaxing with family and friends, we hope you have a happy and safe day.

The Countdown is On: The First Day of School is Monday, August 17th!

We are days away from kicking off a brand-new year at Merit Preparatory Academy! We cannot wait to welcome all of our Knights back to campus on Monday morning, August 17th.

A huge shout-out to our incoming 7th graders starting their journey, our returning students, and our seniors who are ready to lead the pack this year. We are so excited for a year filled with academic excellence, growth, and principled leadership.

The summer is flying by, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back to campus! To kick off the new school year, we invite all of our Merit families to join us for our Back to School Night.

🎒 Free Backpacks & School Supplies: Gear Up for School! 🎒
Hey Merit families! We love supporting our community, and we are so excited to share an amazing opportunity to help your student get ready for the upcoming school year.

Our friends at Tabitha's Way Local Food Pantry are hosting their annual Gear Up for School event! They will be handing out FREE backpacks filled with school supplies, and students can also enjoy a free lunch on-site!

Here is everything you need to know:

⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Where: Landmark High School (Spanish Fork, UT)
⚠️ Important Note: Children must be present to receive a backpack.
