Last night proved something. ❤️

Our teens were able to simply BE KIDS.

They laughed. They danced. They played games. They made memories. They enjoyed themselves in a space created just for them.

No fighting.
No violence.
No tragedy.

And at the end of the night, every child returned home safely to their parent or guardian. 🙏🏾

When we first shared the idea of throwing a real House Party for teens, some people thought we were CRAZY. 😂 And I understood why. We hear so much about what could go wrong when you put a large group of teenagers together.

But what if we stopped expecting the worst from our young people?

What if we gave them safe spaces to have FUN, be themselves, and just be kids?

God allowed us to do exactly that. 🙌🏾

What the world thought was a crazy idea, God allowed us to pull off SAFELY and SUCCESSFULLY.

And the BEST part? The kids were leaving asking us, “When is the next event?!” 🥹❤️

That right there told us everything we needed to know.

This was bigger than a party. It was proof that our teens deserve safe spaces, positive experiences, and adults willing to create them.

Because apparently the kids are ready for ROUND TWO! 😂🔥

This isn’t just another event—it’s an opportunity to show our teens that their community cares. Together, we can create a night filled with fun, encouragement, and positive memories.

Building on Direction (B.O.N.D.) is looking for passionate barbers and hairstylists to volunteer at our Bridge the Block: Back-to-School Unity Festival on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM–4:00 PM.

A fresh haircut or hairstyle can do more than change a child’s appearance, it can boost confidence, restore self-esteem, and help them walk into the new school year feeling proud and prepared.

We’re asking licensed and experienced professionals to donate a few hours of their time to serve youth and families in our community. Together, we can make sure every child starts the school year looking and feeling their best.
