is it just me or does September feel like it’s going to be a dope month?

Personally I’ve always loved September bc it’s the start of my favorite season FALL. It’s about watching the leaves change into these beautiful colors and fall to the ground.

For me it’s a reminder from God to let go of things that are no longer serving you so that you can fully grasp everything that He has for you.

the life you dream of is possible sis, but that’s only after you renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and let go of the beliefs you’ve created about yourself, others or even God bc of the things you’ve been though.

would you believe that this picture was taken during one of my darkest times?

at this time I had just moved back home after running away from an abusive relationship. I didn't have a place to stay, I had no money to my name, depressed and to top it all off I did it with a one year old.

I spent a lot of my time obsessing over every little detail & where I went wrong blaming myself for everything that I experienced. it didn't matter how much time had passed, mentally I was stuck in my trauma and I couldn't escape.

this dark season of my life lasted 6 years, until one day God told me it could end with me. He revealed that my family has a history of dealing with depression and anxiety and I was starting to repeat the cycle. He showed me that I could heal so that I wouldn't have to be a mom that my son would have to heal from

But first I would have to give it all over to Him. (Matthew 11:28)

let me be the first to tell you HEALING AIN'T EASY
it's hard
it hurts
& sometimes it can feel never-ending

but there is a light at the end of the tunnel

today I
• have a business that allows me to be present w/ my family
• run an impactful ministry & community that has helped thousands with breakthroughs
• am happily engaged to the love of my life
• & happier than I ever thought possible.

Romans 8:28 says that ALL things work for our good so that means that there's purpose in every tear dropped.

when we say all things work together for your good we mean ALL things

even that toxic relationship
even being a single or teenage mom
even dealing with a dysfunctional family
even dropping out of college
even working that dead end job
even losing your bestie

yes all things work together, you may not see it upfront but everything you experience is somehow connected to your purpose. but its up to you to allow your pain to make you better and not bitter.

try these tips.
1. give yourself grace - you did the best you could with what you had
2. allow yourself to feel the pain - the more you try to just push past it the worst it will be
3. learn to forgive - not just the other person but forgive yourself for the part you may have played

last week I had a client tell me "I've been wanting to work with you but I don't have ministry so I never reached out." As we kept talking I asked what is it that she does. she responded that she was a YouTuber. she posts alot of motivational content and talks about God

I stopped her in her tracks & said SIS THAT IS MINISTRY. and then it dawned on me how many believers are out here right now that may be ignoring their calling bc they don't fit the "ministry mold". How many of us that don't see how sharing our story could be inspirational or impactful to the next person simply bc we see what we overcame as what we had to do to survive.

Stop thinking that you have to look, act, or speak a certain way to be a ministry leader. If you encourage others with the word of God then you're already it. the only thing you have to do now is catch your thoughts up. You may not have seen it done the way you do it, but that doesn't mean it cant be done, that just means God has called you to become a pioneer.

FORGIVING WILL SET YOU FREE

there’s a common misconception around the connection of forgiveness + healing especially for us believers.

as believers we are taught that the only way to be forgiven and released from guilt by God is to forgive others.
but when you’ve been through the worst things possible it seems impossible to to forgive those who have hurt us.

what irritates me the most about that teaching is that it makes it seem like God is transactional, as if His care and love are for sale & this couldn’t be further from the truth.

here are 3 things you NEED to know about forgiveness
1. God has already forgiven you regardless of your current feelings or circumstances
2. The purpose of you learning to forgive is so that you can be free from the things that are holding you back
3. Forgiving yourself is just as, if not more, important than forgiving others

listen sis, God doesn’t care what you did or what you’ve been through. That’s why you’re still feeling called. I often get asked what is "must have" for starting an impactful brand & many are surprised that my answer has nothing to do with business or branding in general.

I used to think that I "couldn't help" the things I think, and thats exactly what the enemy wants you to believe. He wants you to believe that the thoughts he's put into your head are the truth

thats why God's word tells take our thoughts captive (2 Corin. 10:5) or what I like to call Thinking About Your Thinking. This process has helped me break free from a 6-year depression, see myself the way God sees me, and build a successful brand+ministry that has helped thousands of other women do the same.

the enemy aims to feel you with shame and guilt. why? bc he knows that this will disrupt your path to purpose.

before I started my ministry there was a constant mental battle that almost made me quit several times
- I’m not Christian enough
- no one is going to listen to what I have to say; I don’t even have an audience
- I don’t have any type of degree to speak on emotional health; I’m not qualified for this
-I’m to blame for what I went thru, there’s no way God can use me
these were just a few of the thoughts

not only did my past NOT disqualify me from living an abundant life, it was my past experiences that made me perfect for the job God was calling me to do

everything you’ve been thru was to be able to help the next person, it’s what’s make you perfect to coach the next woman through it & lead an impactful ministry.

all you have is all you need, stop letting the enemy tell you any different.

When you’re obedient to what God says there no way you can fail

I put off starting my coaching business for over a year. Honestly, it was bc it was scary.
Scary bc it meant I had to be vulnerable
Scary bc I thought I had no idea what I was nor was qualified
Scary bc all my life I’ve been told that I would never amount to anything and I started to believe it
& that fear caused me to run away from what it was God was calling me to

Y’all when I say I fought Him HARD on this that is exactly what I mean, every step of the way I kept coming back to God with reasons why I couldn’t or shouldn’t do it.

He quickly reminded me of Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

See God needed me to shed the toxic voices from my past that were telling me that I wasn’t good enough, and He knew the only way I could do so is by going to Him first. Since then I have launched my coaching services and began helping clients heal. & now He’s giving me instruction on how to make it even better

God has something great in store for you too. That business idea that you’re sitting on was given to you by Him. But first you’re going to have to unlearn who it is the world has made you out to be so that you can learn who it is God needs you to be. He’s waiting on you to come to Him with open arms.
