Tina has been involved in the local REALTORS® association since becoming a REALTOR® in 2006. In 2019 she was voted by her REALTORS® to a position on the Board of Directors at St Louis REALTORS®. Tina has served on several committees over the past 14 years – education committee, urban affairs, community engagement and grievance committee. She is the chair of the St Louis REALTORS® Leadership Academy to help facilitate new leadership talent within the local association. Tina is gaining state knowledge by serving as a Missouri REALTORS® State Director and serving on state committees. Education has always been an important part of her life. Tina’s undergrad education was earned at Missouri State University and her MBA from Fontbonne University. Since joining the real estate community in 2006, Tina has dedicated herself to earning national designations and participating in continuing education classes in real estate aspects to improve and hone her skills. In 2016, Tina graduated from the Missouri REALTOR® Leadership Academy after a yearlong program. Tina also finds time to participate in giving back to her profession and her community. She is part of the Leadership Team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of St Louis and a long time board member of the Southampton Neighborhood Association. In 2021, Tina will be on the St Louis REALTORS® Housing Assistance Fund Board of Directors which is the charity arm of the association. Milestones that delay a home purchase also have long-term costs
As living costs rise across the board, many young adults are delaying homeownership in favor of other life milestones, according to Realtor.com's Allaire Conte. One explanation is the rising cost of those other milestones: In 2026, Conte reports, the average wedding will cost $36,000. That is nearly 54% higher than the typical down payment ($23,400 in Q1 2026).
Delaying homeownership can be costly. A recent Realtor.com analysis shows that the timing of a purchase influences wealth creation: Decades of data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics showed households that delayed homeownership until their 40s lost out on about $119,000 in net worth by age 50 compared with those who bought their home around age 30. As priorities shift, homeownership demographics are evolving. NAR's Generational Trends report found that 35% of Gen Z buyers were single women and 17% were unmarried couples, the largest share ever reported for both demographics.

The Fed raised its benchmark interest rate this week. 7% mortgage rates are the new normal and pending home sales in August were down compared to a year ago. It can feel like everything is working against homebuyers, but that’s not the case.
