The Army’s mission is to fight and win our Nation’s wars by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and spectrum of conflict in support of combatant commanders. Army Cadet Command selects, educates, trains, and commissions college students to be officers and leaders of character in the Total Army; instills the values of citizenship..., national and community service, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in high school students. To conclude our FFTX, cadets in the Gateway Battalion challenged themselves on the rappel tower at Fort Leonard Wood and prepared to turn their weapons in. Overall, it was a successful, rigorous, and exciting weekend! 🪢💪🏻

Day 3 of Fall FTX had Cadets taking on the range as they zeroed and qualified, then switching gears for another night under the stars with night land navigation!

Day 2️⃣ of Fall FTX!
Cadets started the day back on the land navigation course, then they conquered some heights (and fears) on the Confidence Course, zeroed and qualified at EST, and wrapped up the night finding their way through night land navigation!

Cadets kicked things off with the Physical Endurance Course (PECs) before putting their land navigation skills to the test during Day Land Nav.

This morning, we honored the fallen, the brave, and the resilient. Gateway Battalion Army ROTC just completed our annual 9/11 Memorial Ruck March through Forest Park. Cadets and Cadre marched 2.977 miles to honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11th, 2001. Thank you to all who participated! We will 🇺🇸🦅❤️ #911

Introducing the Army Gateway Battalion Fall 2026 Commissioning Class! We are proud to celebrate two more leaders from the Gateway Battalion Army ROTC as they earn their commissions as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army. These cadets have completed rigorous training, demonstrated excellence in leadership, academics, and character, and are now ready to serve our nation with honor and distinction. Proud to host our recent Cadet Command Nurse Influencers tour at Fort Sam Houston!
Representatives from Texas Christian University Nursing, Florida Southern University Nursing, Benedictine College Nursing, and Boston Independent School District joined us to observe the critical role and professional development of Army Medical MOSs — including our 68C Practical Nursing Specialists and 68W Combat Medic Specialists. Officials from Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) were instrumental in highlighting all the departments of the only DoW Level I Trauma Center.
These partnerships help shape the next generation of healthcare leaders and strengthen the connection between academic nursing programs and Army Medicine.

🎉 Big news from UMSL Nursing!
We’re thrilled to welcome the first cohort of the 68C LPN-to-BSN program to campus! This inaugural cohort is made up of all Army Reserve Soldiers! Cohort 2027 will be a mix of Active Duty Green to Gold and Reserve 68Charlies. Reserve 68Charlies have two tracks - Army ROTC or Civilian BSN!
These Army practical nurses are taking the next step in their careers, bringing their skills, experience, and dedication to UMSL as they work toward their Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
