It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the people who make rehabilitation special and recognize the impact we have on our patients, their families, and our community. Athletic Trainers play a vital role in safe rehabilitation and return-to-physical activity following injury. We work within an interprofessional team to ensure our patients develop the necessary range, strength, power, and performance to meet the physical demands of life and sport.

✨ Clinical Experience Spotlight ✨

This summer, MAT student, Ryan D**e, had an immersive clinical experience at the Center for Specialized Medicine! 🩺

Throughout his rotation, Ryan participated in patient histories and physical examinations while gaining hands-on exposure to musculoskeletal care, diagnostic ultrasound, and emerging medical technologies such as Tenex procedures. The experience strengthened his clinical reasoning, expanded his understanding of general medical conditions, and provided valuable insight into patient-centered, interprofessional care.

This weekend, our AT students leaned into a supplemental clinical experience at the Gateway Classic Field Hockey Tournament — the largest high school tournament in the country! 🏑 Now in its 28th year, this event features over 70 teams. We're proud of our students for supporting our local community and grateful for the clinical learning opportunity they took part in! 💙"

Another great week of clinical site visits! Our AT students and preceptors are working hard to keep student-athletes safe through these extreme temperatures. 🌡️💪

✨ Clinical Experience Spotlight ✨

This summer, MAT student, Mo Romeus, had an incredible clinical experience with St. Louis CITY SC 2! ⚽️

Throughout the experience, he strengthened his skills in injury evaluation and management, hands-on treatment, and rehabilitation while gaining a deeper understanding of the return-to-play process. Working alongside athletic trainers, physical therapists, performance coaches, coaches, and surgeons also provided valuable insight into the importance of interprofessional collaboration in athlete care.

✨Clinical Experience Spotlight ✨

This summer MAT student, Mary Gogola, gained valuable clinical experience with the football program at Northwestern University! 🏈

Working alongside the Division I athletic training staff, she had the opportunity to work directly with athletes throughout the evaluation and rehabilitation process while expanding her clinical knowledge through educational in-services. This incredible experience allowed her to grow as a future clinician and put her skills into practice at the Big Ten level. 💙

🏈High school football season kicked off this weekend with jamborees across STL! Our students were on the sidelines gaining hands-on clinical experience with high-risk, equipment-intensive contact sports.
